APPLICATION DEATILS:
To conduct footpath/roadway trading activities at or near the applicant’s business premises as
above, in accordance with Council’s approved plans relating to the trial closure of Greville/King
Street, Prahran, between 1 June 2016 and 31 August 2016. The trading area, new or increased to
an existing footpath trading area will be approved and assigned by Council. The applicant agrees
to comply with all conditions imposed upon this permit.

DECLARATION
The applicant named in this form hereby agrees by signing the form to indemnify and to hold
harmless the City of Stonnington, and/or its agents and each of them, from and against all actions,
costs, claims, charges, expenses and damages whatsoever which may be brought or made or
claimed against them, or any of them, arising out of or in relation to the Road Occupation act (if)
issued in response to this application and during the period(s) that any further permit renewal
applies.

PERMIT CONDITIONS THAT WILL BE IMPOSED
The Permit holder is responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with all Permit conditions.
The Permit holder will be held vicariously liable for any breaches by employees.
The Permit holder must ensure that -
1. Operate in accordance with the conditions of the permit and approved plan.
2. All Street furniture and patrons are contained within the approved area at all times.
3. A clear walkway/pedestrian zone of 1.5 metres must be maintained at all times from the
property line to the trading boundary.
4. Trading shall only occur in the approved trading zone.
5. Where the display of goods is approved sufficient space must be maintained within the
trading zone to allow patrons to peruse the goods without obstructing the
walkway/pedestrian zone. Goods displayed must not exceed 1.5 metres in height.
6. If an A frame advertising board is to be utilised it may only be displayed within the displayed
trading zone. A frame boards must not exceed 75cm wide and 1 metre height.
7. If food is to be prepared in the approved trading zone, prior approval from Council’s
Environmental Health Unit must be obtained prior to the activity and be fully maintained
within the approved trading zone.
8. Must ensure approved trading areas and footpaths in the immediate vicinity are kept clean
and tidy, including cleaning around any fixed furniture or barriers, and must provide
ashtrays or other suitable windproof receptacles for the collection of cigarette/cigar ash and
butts.
9. The Permit must remain at the Business address stated at all times and produced on
demand by an Authorised Officer.
10. Only the trading activity as shown on the approved plan shall take place on the footpath
and must be contained within the “trading area” at all times.
11. The permit holder must not allow the footpath trading activity, including the behavior of
patrons, to detract from, or be detrimental to the safety, accessibility and amenity of an area
or negatively impact on the wider community.
12. Entertainment is not allowed on the footpath without the consent of an Authorised Officer.
13. The Permit holder must comply with any reasonable direction of an Authorised Officer or a
member of Council staff.
