ZIA Mandate Premier investment promotion agency of Zimbabwe, and part of Government Position Zimbabwe as investment destination choice Promotes investment led development Brings together investor community & the regulatory agencies Champions investor related issues  To deal with applications for investment Licenses  To promote, facilitate and coordinate domestic and foreign investment in Zimbabwe  To promote joint ventures between domestic and foreign investors  To promote decentralization of investment  Policy Advisory Role: Advise the Minister on investment policy & all matters relating to investment in Zimbabwe so as to enhance economic growth

Foreign Exchange System • No restriction on the amount of foreign currency brought into the country ; • Equity investment in cash or capital equipment ; • 100% repatriation of disinvestment proceeds; • 100% remittance of dividends; • Operation of local foreign currency accounts (FCA); • Borrowing from local financial system for working capital purposes; • Offshore borrowing permitted: "Your Investment, Our Passion" 8

Agriculture • Mainstay of the Zimbabwean economy; • Excellent soils, water bodies and climate for perennial agriculture; • Backward and forward linkages with the major sectors of manufacturing, tourism, mining and service sectors. • Opportunities Include: • Primary Production of: •food and cash crops, horticulture, livestock, Poultry farming, fishing and fish farming. •Contract farming • Value addition in the agriculture sector, for instance, • meat processing, -fruit juice manufacturing,-export of horticulture and floriculture, • processing of cotton lint, -sugar milling timber processing.

Mining • Over 60 recognised minerals • Areas of mineral concentrations – – The Great Dyke, – The Mashonaland Dolerite Dykes, – Murowa and Chiadzwa Alluvial Diamond Deposits, – Sedimentary rocks scattered across country • The chief minerals are – • Diamonds, gold, lithium, coal, copper, nickel, tin, platinum, iron, chrome, clay & others • Investment Opportunities • Prospecting, mining, and value addition 13

Infrastructure Development • Major opportunities include: – Transport (roads, bridges, railways and airports) – Communications (ICT infrastructure) – Water and sanitation infrastructure – Agriculture infrastructure including dams and irrigation schemes. – Industrial parks and factory shells 14 Private sector is welcome to participate in the development & provision of infrastructure on a public private partnership (PPP basis)

Dragline, Shovels dump trucks, forklifts and spares, coke oven batteries – Gas Field exploration and development, – Power station construction and accessory facilities,
