2. Application #1
GameSalad
I used this to create the coding used in the game
and it will also be used to publish the App to the
apple store
I chose this program instead of a program like x-
code because its easy and simple to use even when
going in depth
It also has some pre-set behaviors such as moving
forward or moving backwards
4. My Objectives
To create a working app
Learn to use GAMESALAD ef๏ฌciently
Add sounds successfully to each object and
character
Add more atmospheric effects such as moving
clouds
Keep the cartoon theme
5. My Objectives
Add a working main menu that is easy to
browse through and get straight to the game.
Keep the game original by adding features
that are not commonly used in other
applications that are on the app store such as
timers or a quick play button to get straight
into the game without any hassle. The
graphics is also different to other apps
because it is more of a cartoon children's
theme.
6. My Objectives
Add a timer that will count down and limit
how long you are playing to make the game
more fast paced.
10. Research
Finding out the top apps of 2011:
I went onto the app store to ๏ฌnd out what the
top apps were and and what people were
playing. I found out that angry birds was the
most addictive app and had some of the
highest ratings. Our game has similar concept
as the objective is destroying the structure on
the other side and this may create a wider
audience.
11. Planning
After researching what was popular on the
app store, my group and I decided to do a
game similar to angry birds and I then made a
sketch of what the game might look like
12. I started to think of what features I could add
to the game like a main menu with level select
and quick play.
14. Step 1
Before adding the actor/object to a scene.
They must each have behaviors which are
also known as scripts. This enables them to
do different jobs that will all add up to create
the game.
15. These are the behaviors
that will give speci๏ฌc jobs
to different actors/objects.
16. Step 2
Create Background - backgrounds are a
bunch of objects called actors that are used
for display and does not interact with the
gameplay. This is used to create an
atmosphere in the game that will make it
more appealing.
17. Drag and drop the
clouds and add
the ๏ฌoor/grass,
The clouds should
automatically start
moving in the
background
because of the
coding
23. Step 5
Once the game is ๏ฌnished.
Publish the app to the app store.
24. Before actually ๏ฌnishing the product and
putting in on the app store, I created a
prototype to check that everything is in place
and that there are no glitches. Me and my
group played around with it and when we
were happy with it, I then added in the main
menu, countdown feature, sounds along with
other features to ๏ฌnalize the game.
