  • We are going to cover the following areas
  • However as you have heard today the number of channels and the diversity of consumer engagement with those channels is increasing all the time.

As our customers move from Planning to targeting they are typically faced with significant inefficiencies – often organisations will have to make compromises when they design campaigns – restricted by the targeting capabilities within each channel. Think of the fact that historically TV advertising has been limited to targeting based on genre of show.

That is all changing and CIT are at the heart of that change – effectively now CIT customers can leverage CIT insight to build single consistent definitions of target audiences that they can reach without translation or compromise across all channels – and that includes TV !

Many of Experian’s clients leverage CIT to power and inform activities within channels such as Direct Mail, Email and out of home – but increasingly they are now seeing the value of applying that same insight driven targeting discipline to new channels such as display, mobile and social.
  • Get your data in shape for 2015
Delivery – make it easier for customer to input their details and keep your contact data clean and up-to-date overtime. Errors in contact data put pressure on deliveries and returns can cost companies more money if a parcel is undeliverable. Our Global Data Quality Research showed that ‘97% of companies suffer from common data errors associated with contact data.’ Tight delivery dates due to people shopping longer means you need their correct details to make sure you can meet your deadlines.
Conversion rates – make the customer journey easier by making validation of email and postal addresses quick so that they complete sales before changing their minds.
Click and collect – having the right mobile number will mean that customers are correctly informed when their parcels are ready to collect. It’s an easy way to create good customer service
Being prepared for 2015 – If the data is right, you have a better insight into your customers, and therefore make better and more targeted decisions. It enables you to be customer centric and create that SCV. At the end of the day, everything starts with data. Clean up your data and the rest will follow.
  • Opening for questions
I think this is a good place now to open it up for questions from the audience so if you have any questions based on what we’ve just covered please write it in your question box and we will try our best to answer it.

Can you see Black Friday, Cyber Monday and now Manic Monday continuing in the UK for the foreseeable future? – Giles
What trends to do predict for next year? – The Experian Data Quality Global Research shows ‘In 2015, 36% of companies say email will be the most important communication channel for their organisation.’ It’s vital that you therefore make sure that your data is valid and clean so you can make sure that your marketing campaigns are as targeted as possible to drive people to purchase on your website or in store.
What was the best selling product over the 2014 festive season? – As previously discussed, we cannot share this information.
What impact has the surge in online sales over Christmas has on the in store sales for the high street? – We will already be discussing this, so please make a reference that this was asked during the registration process.
Will the shopping season compress or stretch going forward, especially as buyers ignore time zones? - Giles
Which industries have seen the largest increase in traffic on Black Friday & Cyber Monday? and is this what you expected? - Giles
