3. Key factors of our health promoting
food policy:
• Dietary education schemes which pursue an integral
approach and are fun for children (“nutrition license”)
• Quality standards for school catering
that have been devised on a scientific basis and are
continuously being updated and further developed
4. Key factors of our health promoting
food policy:
• Networking centres and a National Quality Centre for
Nutrition in Preschools and Schools.
They ensure that the quality standards are applied on a
broad basis in day-care centres for children and schools.
• A National Research Institute of Child Nutrition.
It helps us to become better and better and take our policy
decisions on a scientific basis.
5. Dietary education that pursues an
integral approach and is fun and
quality-focused school catering are
two sides of the same coin that we
aim to address with our health-
promoting food policy in Germany
which is based on scientific findings.
