2. Introduction
As a fundraising and marketing company helping nonprofit
organizations, Faircom New York knows the value of charitable
thought and action. This value is confirmed by science, as well,
which has documented its benefits to the giver on a personal
level, such as making them a happier person.
Money can, in fact, buy happiness--at least, when you spend that
money on others. Along with two colleagues, Harvard Business
School professor Michael Norton published an article in Science
magazine titled, “Spending Money on Others Promotes
Happiness." The article outlined three similar studies conducted
by the researchers. In each study, participants were given money
and were either instructed to spend it on themselves, or spend it
on someone else, including giving the money to charity.
3. Charitable Giving
The studies all found that those who were instructed
to give the money away reported being happier after
the experiment than those who spent it on themselves.
The specific amount you give doesn’t hold that much
importance, as one of the studies found these same
results after participants gave away just $5.
Studies like these prove the value of charitable
donation to all involved. If you'd like to donate but are
