5G technologies is these days seen as a stage in the classification of "progressive" steps in mankind
history, identified with the industrial and communications environment. This universal term
presently means the advancement of the industrial advances that changed the essence of the world
through the introduction of new ideas for huge scope industrial processes: print machine (15th
century), steam engine (18th century), electricity (18th century), telegraph (19th century), the
Internet (20th century). The 5G tech, while not revolutionary in idea, is a finished distinct
advantage regarding improving already accessible abilities. The speed and measures of
information and data that can be reached and transferred easily would be huge. As we see and live
through an interconnected future, the core interest on network safety should increment
dramatically. As an ever increasing number of gadgets will be connected to the worldwide global

Why 5G is Important?
5G is not only important because it has the potential to support millions of devices at ultrafast
speeds, but also because it has the potential to transform the lives of people around the world. It is
estimated that by 2035, 5G “will enable $12.3 trillion of global economic output and support 22
million jobs worldwide.”
The spectrum used for mobile communications is becoming congested. Current networks cannot
always meet consumer demands for data. During periods of heavy use, consumers may experience
slow speeds, unstable connections, delays, or loss of service. The effects can range from
annoyances like a streaming movie freezing to life-threatening transmission delays between first
responders in an emergency. The demand for data will continue to grow as the number of devices
connected to the internet grows.
Industries and consumers will rely on 5G networks to power the devices and transmit the data that
drive their daily activities. They will need networks that can provide constant connections, minimal
lag times, increased bandwidth to access and share data, and the ability to quickly compile and
compute data.
In the health care sector, 5G could enable services such as remote patient monitoring, consultation,
and even remote surgery. In transportation, 5G will be the backbone that autonomous vehicles rely
on. In educational sector, now a days education system also depend on technology due to Covid
19 reason at that time 5G play a vital role in online & E-learning education.

It has an impassive impact on globalization and requires a massive level of connectivity as it will
enter you in the world in which not just people but all things are connected i.e. cars to the roads
they are on; doctors to the personal medical devices of their patients; and this all will be possible
with augmented reality available to help people shop and learn and explore wherever they are.
5G will have positive impact on globalization as it is meant to connect the people around the world
with everything by making billions of new speedy connections, making them secure and
instantaneous which is also main objective of globalization. 5G is designed in such that all the
sectors can take advantage of cellular connectivity in ways that wouldn’t have been possible
before. So, it will have impact on every sector which eventually have positive impact on economy.
It is estimated that besides bringing new jobs and industries, and overall $1 trillion in economic
growth. It is also expected to yield $2.2 trillion in GDP and $588 billion in tax revenue cumulatively over
the period from 2020-2034.
The future use of 5G interconnected devices might also have a big impact on other economic and social
issues of our present-day society. The usage of large-scale remote sensors and the possibility to work
remotely, based on the benefits of 5G infrastructure, will accelerate innovation and growth rate, increase
access and availability to advanced education and healthcare, will help to decrease the cost, reduce the
pollution and increase efficiency of transportation and increase overall life style and standard.
Impact of 5G in Different Sectors:
1. Impact on Industries:
Industrial sectors, such as manufacturing, mining, construction and automobile is going through
an era of digital transformation. This era is marked by the use of improved technology such as 5G
connectivity, robotic technology, digitalization and efficient business models to improve the
production and safety across the sector. The two major advantages of 5G on industrial sectors
include the increase access of industry to connectivity and enabling to use new applications.
5G connects the devices and machinery together through a network which is more effective, secure
and reliable than Wi Fi by reducing the human interaction to dangerous machines and can be
operated from remote sensors. It also increases the production and manufacturing quality and
provide infrastructure for the construction of autonomous machines and automobiles which can
recognize signals, maps of an area and can communicate to each other more efficiently.

In sectors such as mining, where it can take several hours of ventilation after blasting rocks before
the environment is safe enough for operators to enter, moving closer to removing humans from the
production site, there technology can be used for such operations by eliminating potential safety
hazards and delivering zero accidents and emissions. Accident can occur to both machine and
people operation but removing people from site reduces the risk of accidents.
2. Impact On Education And Healthcare Sector:
Like other sectors, 5G have impact on educational and healthcare sector and expected to bring
qualitative improvement in these sectors. 5G networks have expanded access to educational
resources, especially improved the quality of educational resources. Such benefits may be grouped
into two broad categories: increased availability and access to educational opportunities and
increased quality of education, including for educators.
5G provides access and availability of high quality of education in affordable way to distant
students and helps in closing the gap between populations by spreading education. It has also
improved and introduced new and effective way of teaching. Further, workplace and vocational
education can also benefit from remote access to training and continuing education resources that
may currently be unavailable or prohibitively expensive. Interactive lessons, or those using
augmented or virtual reality technology could greatly expand and improve current distance-
learning options. These benefits will be particularly impactful in rural and developing regions.
This method of learning proved effective during Covid-19 when all the educational institutions
shifted their way of learning to online.

5G has also brought transformation and improvement in healthcare sector. Expected benefits
include increased accessibility and access to services, improved overall health of the population
and a reduction of healthcare costs. It will also allow always and secure device connectivity of
patients and healthcare provider.
5G technology such as robots and cameras enables healthcare professional to remotely diagnose
patient, allow robotic surgery without involvement of person and follow up of patient after surgery.
3. Impact on Transportation:
Automobile and transportation sectors has also undergone the qualitative impact of 5G and resulted
in more advanced autonomous self-driving vehicles which increased the mobility, road safety and
shortened the commute time. It is based on the use of artificial intelligence and remote sensors
which control the vehicle and reduces the pollution, chances of road accidents and opens market
for new business. As it is traffic efficient and increases road safety, so it is expected to be successful
as it have positive impact on society.

5g will generate new revenue, after examining unique cases such as indoor wireless broadband
coverage, augmented reality and virtual reality, asset tracking and autonomous vehicle that has the

also represents about 4.6 % of all global real output in 2035.
2. It Will Inspire New Growth:
Infrastructure providers, and content and application developers is expected to grow output to $
3.5trillion in 2035, larger than the entire mobile value chain is today. Researchers foresee 5G
supporting 22 million jobs around the world.
3. It Will Accelerate Innovation:
Respondents feel that 5G will enable new products and services that have yet to be invented. They
believe 5G will stimulate innovation, and the technologies and inventions inspired by it will lead
to smarter homes and cities, and even healthier people. The next generation will inspire the
emergence of new industries as well as impact existing business.
4. Change In Implementation Of Towers:
The 5G technology allows for a change of implementation paradigm – from the very
powerful 4G towers, covering large areas, to smaller and more efficient towers that
consume/require way less power but also provide a smaller coverage area.

Advantages and disadvantages of 5G:
There are several Advantages of 5G technology; some of the advantages are described below:
1. New technology options: As network speeds have increased, more and more tasks are being
transitioned from the world of computers to the world of smart devices. With the increasing
network speeds, this could open new doors for smart device technology that may not have
been available. We're talking AI, VR and much more
2. Technology to gather all networks on one platform.
3. More effective and efficient.
4. Technology to facilitate subscriber supervision tools for the quick action.

6. Most likely, will provide a huge broadcasting data (in Gigabit), which will support more than

Looking at the disadvantages though, 5G technology is researched and conceptualized to solve
all radio signal problems and hardship of mobile world, but because of some security reason and
lack of technological advancement in most of the geographic regions, it has following
shortcomings:
1. Technology is still under process and research on its viability is going on.
2. The speed, this technology is claiming seems difficult to achieve (in future, it might be)
because of the incompetent technological support in most parts of the world.
3. Many of the old devices would not be competent to 5G; hence, all of them need to be replaced
with new one — expensive deal.
4. Developing infrastructure needs high cost.
5. Security and privacy issue yet to be solved.
6. Battery drain/heat: Phones running on 5G will experience a huge battery drain. Better battery
technology will be needed if the object is to run your phone a full day on a single charge
running a 5G connection. Users are also reporting that phones are almost hot to the touch while
running 5G.

7. Upload speeds: With the current technology, users see download speeds as high as 1.9 Gbps;
however, rarely are the upload speeds seen over 100 Mbps. Granted, this is far superior to 4G
LTE. However, the current upload speeds seen by actual 5G users are not as groundbreaking
as the download speeds.
8. Lack of widespread coverage: Currently, 5G coverage is limited to narrowly defined areas in
specific cities. As a rule, the carriers will be expanding their network in areas with the greatest
population. If you live or work in certain areas of big cities, you will most likely be the first to
benefit from the 5G technology. For everyone else, especially in remote areas, it will be some
time before it arrives. Carriers are more likely to spend their network upgrade dollars where
the greatest number of their users reside or work.
Conclusion:
From this study it is seen that 5G is the 5th generation mobile network. It is a new global
wireless standard after 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. 5G enables a new kind of network
that is designed to connect virtually everyone and everything together including machines,
objects, and devices.it has more benefits then previous generations like it gathers all
networks on one platform, effective and efficient than other generations, huge
broadcasting, More speed, Less energy-intensive and easy management, there are also some
major drawbacks that 5G is facing like high cost of implementation, it is still under process
and under research and security and privacy issues are still yet to be solved.
We have seen the impact of 5G in different sectors such as impact on industries, education
and health, transportation sectors and impact on world’s economy which is expected to bring
dramatic transformation in our daily lives and the world’s economy.
Limitations of the Study:
In this topic still research is going on so it is difficult for us to research this topic in every aspect,
secondly researches have anticipated that this will have the following changes in 2035 but still
they are not Shure whether it would be successful or not as huge amount of investment is required
for building infrastructure of 5G.and there was limitation of time in which we have to complete
the research.
Recommendations:
Although it has benefited the society by improving its access and availability to healthcare and
educations, increasing road safety, reducing pollution and bringing digital transformation to
industries and other sectors. But to get these benefits countries should plan their strategies
according to it and ensure the availability of internet connectivity.
It is a critical opportunity to identify factors helping 5G meet its full potential irrespective of where
users are located and what applications and services they want to use. It is recommended that
governments take the following actions:

1. Review and support the different conditions and proposals related to 5G, particularly the
recommendation to identify the 26 GHz, 40 GHz and 66-71 GHz bands for IMT.
2. Support the regional and global process for the harmonization of the use of these different
bands, with due consideration for their frequency arrangements and minimum block sizes.
3. Review the national regulatory frameworks with the goal of allowing these bands to be
deployed within the country.
