Personal Profile: I have nine years’ experience as mining engineer in a very challenging mine. I
worked at Lisheen mine during an exceptionally challenging period during the ramp up to 1.6 million
tonnes per annum and the ramp down to 1.2 million tonnes per annum. During that time I gained
experience in mine ventilation, drill and blast, mine planning, management of technical personnel and
the strategic running of a department and business overall. Obtained a Master of Business degree from
UCC in May 2014. I have 7 years exp as mine rescue member with advanced first aid skills. I enjoy a
challenge and compete in adventure races and triathlons. I hold underage, intermediate and senior
medals in Gaelic football.

Senior Engineer,
The Lisheen Mine, Vedanta Resources, Ireland (April 2011 – November 2015, (enhanced
responsibilities in 2013)
The Lisheen mine is an underground Zinc operation located in the County Tipperary in the Republic
of Ireland. The mine currently produces 1.2Mt of ore per year at an average grade of 9%. The mining
methods used at the mine are up hole stoping; drift and fill; room & pillar mining and cut & fill.
Responsible for the planning, drill & blast and ventilation engineers and also the survey department,
managing 15 people overall.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the quality supply of technical services to the mine production department, thereby
reaching monthly and yearly targets in a safe and productive manner
Assist the Mine Manager prepare and present operating budgets for the Mining Department
Train, develop and motivate the technical team
Maintain all relevant technical services procedures and ensure all personnel in the technical
services department are adequately trained for their position and informed of the standards and
procedures
Responsible for: backfilling strategy, heading a continuous improvement project
