1. Ronan Ó Dálaigh, currently on Intra work placement as part of his degree BA Gnó
agus Gaeilge
Where are you from?
Clondalkin, Dublin
Where are you working at present?
I am working in Unilever as part of my Intra placement on the BA Business and Irish and will go
back to DCU to finish my final year.
2. Why did you choose the BA Business and Irish over other courses?
I picked it on for many reasons:
(i) I feel that the Irish and Irish culture is important to me personally and I
wanted to build on this in my life.
(ii) I wanted to get a really good business degree agus I felt that I would get that
in Fiontar because of the small classes, high quality lecturers and the strong
academic success associated with DCU as an university.
What do you think about the course?
I really enjoy this course. There is a good mix between Irish and business. Sometimes
I would prefer to have more business on the course but there is a lot of opportunities
to get business experience in the school and in the university in general.
3. Why would you recommend this course?
I would recommend this course to those who are interested in Irish or business and that would
like a friendly atmosphere central to their university life. One of the best things about the
course are the friendships that are made with others in the school.
What did you think about university life. Did you enjoy it?
University life is brilliant! You can do anything you want and there are many
opportunities for those who are looking for them. I started my own society with a
few friends and because of this we won a trip to Washington DC. I do not like the
drink culture but I see that it is minimising all the time. As well as this, there are so
much societies, clubs and other forums that it wouldn’t be hard for anyone to find
something that interests them.
4. Anything else you would like to mention?
DCU is the best place I have been so far. There is a great dynamic on campus and the
community is very strong, friendly and full of energy. I would recommend for anyone thinking
of coming to DCU to visit the campus and see for themselves how brilliant it is.
