ndia has es-
tablished it-
self as a sig-
nificantglob-
al player
based on the rate of its eco-
nomic growth. This is dem-
onstrated by the fact that it
is one of the top five econo-
mies in the world. It is also
true, though, that India re-
ceives criticism frequently
for its poor R&D spending.
This claim is based on the
fact that while R&D expen-
ditures as a percentage of
GDPinIndiaareonly0.7%,
theyaccountfor1.8%ofthe
global average. Companies
worldwide spend over two-
thirds of their yearly profits
toR&D,comparedtoslight-
ly over one-third for Indian
businesses. This continuous
debate on international fo-
rums has drawn attention to
the claim that only the Unit-
ed States, Japan, South Ko-
rea, and China are capable
of dominating the fight for
thetopspot.Thisdiscussion
also gives rise to the notion
thatitisthecompaniesfrom
the developed nations that
give greater importance to
innovation and Indian com-
panies lag behind in this as-
pect.This alsoraisesaques-
tion about the capability of
Indian companies to take
risks in the end.
Aretheretrulynoinnova-
tions valued by Indian com-
panies? This perception of
India is completely un-
foundedonthisissue.Coun-
tries like Japan, the United
States, South Korea, etc.,
invest significantly more in
research and development
throughcapitalbecausethey
are less populated nations.
Their per capita expenditure
on technology is higher than
the overall labor cost in pro-
duction.Incontrast,thesitu-
ation in India is entirely op-
posite. India is a highly
populated country, and its
social efficiency, productiv-
ity of various products, and
profitability depend on how
effectively labor is divided
and utilized at the work-
place.Indians have been
thinking since ancient times
thatbringingmorelaborinto
use can expand the pace of
anywork.Forinstance,ifthe
construction of a road needs
to be completed quickly, us-
ing more laborers is a better
option than relying on the
latest machinery. The main
basis behind this mindset
undoubtedly stems from the
limited availability of eco-
nomic resources in society.
Research and develop-
ment (R&D) advocates ar-
gue that greater investment
in this area is essential for
India to achieve economic
independence. India has
beenmakinggreatstridesin
this area in recent years,
demonstrating that the na-
tion is spending more mon-
ey on R&D to improve the
workforce’s skill set. Given
that customers may now re-
ceive their selected prod-
ucts within ten minutes of
placing an order, it is clear
thatbusinesseslikeSwiggy,
Zomato, Infomart, Blinkist,
etc., are making wise finan-
cial decisions to invest in
their employees’ research
anddevelopment.Inbigcit-
ies, when a taxi reaches the
customer’s destination
within five to ten minutes
through a mobile applica-
tion, it not only saves them
from the struggles of public
transportbutalsoeliminates
the risk of navigating un-
known routes. This innova-
tion, mostly carried out by
servicesectorcompanies,is
remarkable. Isn’t it a
groundbreaking innovation
to provide technology-driv-
en solutions to delivery
workers or drivers in
crowded areas, guiding
them with minimal voice
commands and ensuring
timely delivery to custom-
ers? Shouldn’t this be in-
cluded under innovation?
A novel concept has
emerged in big cities,where
customers can select their
favorite vegetables through
avirtualcard,andtheseveg-
etables are delivered by a
delivery boy to the custom-
er’s doorstep without caus-
ing any inconvenience.
Startups are investing in re-
search and development to
facilitate their workers in
residential colonies of large
cities. These workers are
granted access based on no-
tificationsandOTPreceived
through a mobile applica-
tion, which ultimately pro-
vides excellent convenience
to the customers. Further-
more, in large cities extend-
ingupto30to40kilometers,
courier services are now
available on the same day.
Alongside these develop-
ments, it is worth mention-
ing the successful Mumbai
tiffin system that has been
operating for the past three
tofourdecades.Thissystem
serves as an excellent exam-
pleofinvestmentinresearch
and development for work-
ers in Indian society.
The effectiveness of call
centres in India, however,
must be increased in order
to address client concerns
in the service industry. It’s
common to see startups and
different financial services
organisations giving cus-
tomers a portion of their
costs that isn’t transparent
during transactions. It is
also crucial to make clear
that many well-known
businesses in industrialised
nations continually spend
in R&D to gain a competi-
tive edge, setting off a trend
of strong demand for their
goods. In addition, the
product life cycle (PLC) of
different things has been
steadily getting shorter
over the past two to three
decades. Typically, busi-
nesses may charge a high
selling price up front for a
product before dropping it
to half a year or two later.
The main reason behind
this is that these companies
easily understand that they
need to sell their products
to affluent people in society
during the initial stage and
establish their product as a
brand. It is a reality that the
selling price obtained from
these affluent people is
twice the production cost
and that profit is invested in
research and development
to quickly introduce new
products for these same af-
fluent individuals. Addi-
tionally, under the current
situation, things that are
available should be offered
to middle-class people for
half the price during the
initial term. Economic ine-
quality in society has sig-
nificantly increased as a
result of these businesses’
huge earnings.
It is also legitimate to
claim that India’s auto and
pharmaceutical industries
have consistently increased
their spending in R&D,
which has improved their
quality and reputation on a
global scale. India created
its own vaccine during the
COVID-19 pandemic and
made a big contribution to
shielding 1.4 billion people
from the disease’s negative
consequences. Increased
R&D with investments in
the labour force to improve
worker skills is a balanced
strategy for India. New em-
ployment opportunities
will result from this, but
new labour regulations will
also be necessary to make
this happen.

MUSK CROSSES OUT
THE BLUE BIRD OF

A BIZARRE ADVICE ON
PRICES OF TOMATOES
he little blue bird on the micro-blogging site
Twitter has been “crossed” out as Elon
Musk, the owner, set out to rebrand the site.
The Twitter.com site now has an “X” written with
blue lines. Besides its website the new logo was dis-
played on the company’s office in San Francisco. It
may eventually be brought in sync with Musk-owned
SpaceX, which makes launch vehicles and spacecraft
and Twitter’s company name.
Before introducing the new logo, which is not even
half as eye-catching as the blue bird, Musk said,
“Soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and,
gradually, all the birds.”
Musk’s stint as Twitter’s owner has been a turbu-
lent one starting with the sacking of Parag Agarwal
from the post of CEO. He then changed the compa-
ny’s name to X Corp.The billionaire has a fascination
for “X”. Besides SpaceX and X Corp, he also found-
ed a startup named X.com, an online financial ser-
vices company now called PayPal.
T
ratibha Shukla, UP’s Minister of State for
Women Development and Child Nutrition
has a set of advice for people complaining
about the high prices of tomatoes: Don’t eat toma-
toes, eat lemon instead or start growing the fruit to
avoid feeling the pinch. There are some problems
with the honourable minister’s suggestions. First,
prices of several commodities are touching the sky
so should one stop consuming all those things or
start growing them at home? Also, where’s the
space for growing any crop in apartments. Is that
practically possible? And substituting one product
with another is
also not possible
as a law of eco-
nomics tells us
that rise in de-
mand can lead to
price hike.
The saving
grace was that the
minister did not
sound like
France’s Queen
Marie-Antoinette
to whom the quote
“if people can’t
afford bread they
should eat cake”
is attributed as
other than substi-
tuting tomato with
lemon she gave a
few other options
as well. However,
replacing toma-
toes with lemon
would have made sense decades ago when only one
tomato crop was sown in a year. Now tomatoes are
grown in different regions at different times.
It would have been sensible for the minister to
suggest security and better return to farmers for
their produce. In these times of severe shortage of
tomatoes, if the looting of crops from fields and
trucks could have been prevented, farmers could
have earned some profit. Had there been enough
food processing industries, tomatoes could have
been stored at homes in the form of puree. Interests
of farmers and consumers need to be protected.

Transfer of officers is a
routine process in the
government and under
this, senior administra-
tors get transferred in
districts. But sometimes
it so happens that an of-
ficer becomes so famous
and loved by the public,
owing to the work done,
that the locals are per-
turbed with the transfer
of the officer and start
protesting to cancel the
transfer.
In this matter, the ex-
ample of IAS Samit
Sharma has become a
historic fact. In 2009, he
was serving as Collector
of Chittorgarh and in
2011, he served as Col-
lector of Nagaur district
and both the times when
he was transferred, the
locals from the districts
carried out protests for
several days and even or-
ganised ‘bandh’ to pres-
surise the government.
Now, after 12 years, a
similar kind of incident
has been repeated.
Through the transfer list
of July 13, DoP trans-
ferred Divisional Com-
missioner of Bikaner,
Neeraj K Pawan to
Jaipur. In his one and a
half year long tenure,
Pawan engaged in re-
moval of encroach-
ments, bettering the traf-
fic situation as well as
the beautification and
betterment of the ba-
zaars in the city due to
which he became a ‘fa-
vourite’ of the people.
So it did not go down
well with the people
when Pawan was trans-
ferred and erecting a
tent, people started pro-
testing against the trans-
fer. Interestingly, former
minister Devi Singh
Bhati also participated in
the protest.
But neither did the
State government cancel
the transfer of Samit
Sharma at that time, nor
did it do so in Neeraj K
Pawan’s case. When af-
ter five days Neeraj
joined in Jaipur, the agi-
tation in Bikaner also
ended.
Administrative ex-
perts believe that the
manner employed to get
the transfer cancelled
was wrong and cannot
be accepted. In fact, this
hurts the officer. Some-
time back, Udaipur Col-
lector Tarachand Meena
was honoured by the
tribals living in the dis-
trict and two ministers of
the government also
took part in the pro-
gramme. But this did not
go down well with some
seniors in Jaipur. Word is
that it is due to this that
Meena was transferred
out of the Udaipur Col-
lectorate.

Will BJP have a regional face in the upcom-
ing Rajasthan elections? Even though the
election of Rajasthan is being fought on the
face of the Prime Minister only. But now the discus-
sion on the possibility of regional face has started
afresh. If this really happens, then Vasundhara
Madam is at the forefront in the race of ‘Regional
Face.’ Madam is getting decisive lead in all party
surveys, but despite this, Narendra Modi and Amit
Shah will take the final decision and probably the fi-
nal decision will be taken as soon as the Monsoon
Session of the Parliament is over. Infact, a political
observer commented on this development and
said, “Every election is different, and the decision
would have been taken after thinking about it.”

It also means, it’s time to start
dusting off your best swim-
suits and sandals! Sure, transi-
tioning from spring to summer
to monsoon isn’t the most dif-
ficultchallenge,buttheswitch-
up requires added thought. It’s
time for a reset. You want to
enter the season of fun
park and beach
days with a
brand new

moodandnewpiecestomatch.
Whether it’s a great summer
dress (tube tops are back!) or
an investment bag (it’s all
about quiet luxury), these ce-
lebrities have been rocking
items that are bound to take off
the season. Consider these
trends the perfect ones to pin
to your summer mood board.
Just remember to infuse them
all with your own personality.
Summer is about a lot of
things, but having fun is the
most important.
Like it or not, the ’90s are
coming back in a big way—
via tube tops and strapless
dresses. The silhouette has
been worn by stars such as
Hailey Bieber, Emily Rata-
jkowski, Deepika Padukone,
all of whom have leaned into
a clean, minimal aesthetic. It
feels surprisingly modern
when paired with a sharp shoe
and current It bag. For a more
casual look, try a maxi dress in
a soft cotton material that will
keep you cool on those hot
days. And for those who want
to dress up a bit, a flowy sun-
dress is always a great option.
Maxi Dresses flow with
every step and provide a com-
fortable and stylish option for
those hot summer days. For
those who prefer a more clas-
sic style, a knee-length sheath
dress is a great option. These
dresses are simple and sophis-
ticated, perfect for a day at the
office or a lunch date with
friends. Choose a dress in a
solid colour or classic print to
make it pop.
Remember, the key to rock-
ing your style is to have fun
and express yourself through
your outfits. And with so
many cute dress options to
choose from, the possibilities
are endless.

its refresh-
ing embrace, there is
somethingmagicalabout
the sounds and sensa-
tions it brings. The
splashing of water pud-
dles on the street, the
gentle pitter-patter on
rooftops,andthebuzzing
and chirping of insects
seem to come alive in
harmony with the rain-
drops. But what reso-
natesmostisthesoundof
children, with glistening
eyes and eager hearts,
asking their mothers if
theycangooutanddance
in the rain. And predict-
ably, the answer always
seems to range from
somewhat negative to a
hard ‘NO’.
Bathing in the rain has
often received a bad rep-
utation due to the occa-
sional common cold and
sickness that follows.
However, what many
may not know is that
rainwater is actually in-
credibly beneficial for
our health. The droplets
that descend from the
heavens are not just ordi-
nary water; they are lad-
en with microscopic or-
ganisms that produce vi-
taminB12asametabolic
byproduct of their activ-
ity.Thus,ameredancein
the rain can provide a
boost to our body’s vita-
min B12 levels, promot-
ing overall health and
well-being.
Apart from the physi-
cal health benefits, there
are numerous psycho-
logical advantages to be-
ing in the rain. As rain-
drops gently caress our
skin, they trigger the re-
lease of hormones like
endorphins and seroto-
nin, instantly uplifting
our mood and relieving
tension. This natural
therapy of sorts can be
likened to a rejuvenating
spa session, where the
soul finds solace in the
simplicity and purity of
the moment. In essence,
dancing in the rain be-
comes a form of medita-
tion, where one connects
with nature, leaving be-
hind the worries and dis-
tractions of daily life.
Rain is undoubtedly one
of the most enchanting
gifts of nature to human-
ity. As it showers down
from the heavens, it
cleanses the earth and
everything upon it, sym-
bolizing renewal and re-
generation. For those
who embrace the rain
and immerse themselves
in its beauty, it becomes
a source of inspiration
and wonder, reminding
them of the profound
connections between all
living beings and the
natural world. In today’s
fast-paced and increas-
ingly urbanized world,
many people find them-
selves detached from na-
ture, confined within
concrete jungles and cars
all day long. The pursuit
of material possessions
and success can often
lead them astray from
whattrulymattersinlife.
But amidst the chaos,
there are those who
recognize the pro-
found significance of
nature’s gifts and
seek solace in its
simplicity. They
are the ones who
dance in the
rain, rekindling
a primal con-
nection to the
Earth and re-
minding us
all of the
beauty that lies
beneath the con-
crete.
So, as the rains pour
down, let us not be de-
terred by societal norms
or fleeting discomforts.
Let us embrace the rain
with open arms and
danceinitssymphony,
for in doing so, we re-
discover our true es-
sence,ourplaceinthe
grand tapestry of life.
Be that someone who
sees beyond the sur-
face, who recognizes
the profound value of
the natural world, and
who finds joy in the
simplest moments.

  • 2. ndia has es- tablished it- self as a sig- nificantglob- al player based on the rate of its eco- nomic growth. This is dem- onstrated by the fact that it is one of the top five econo- mies in the world. It is also true, though, that India re- ceives criticism frequently for its poor R&D spending. This claim is based on the fact that while R&D expen- ditures as a percentage of GDPinIndiaareonly0.7%, theyaccountfor1.8%ofthe global average. Companies worldwide spend over two- thirds of their yearly profits toR&D,comparedtoslight- ly over one-third for Indian businesses. This continuous debate on international fo- rums has drawn attention to the claim that only the Unit- ed States, Japan, South Ko- rea, and China are capable of dominating the fight for thetopspot.Thisdiscussion also gives rise to the notion thatitisthecompaniesfrom the developed nations that give greater importance to innovation and Indian com- panies lag behind in this as- pect. This alsoraisesaques- tion about the capability of Indian companies to take risks in the end. Aretheretrulynoinnova- tions valued by Indian com- panies? This perception of India is completely un- foundedonthisissue.Coun- tries like Japan, the United States, South Korea, etc., invest significantly more in research and development throughcapitalbecausethey are less populated nations. Their per capita expenditure on technology is higher than the overall labor cost in pro- duction.Incontrast,thesitu- ation in India is entirely op- posite. India is a highly populated country, and its social efficiency, productiv- ity of various products, and profitability depend on how effectively labor is divided and utilized at the work- place.Indians have been thinking since ancient times thatbringingmorelaborinto use can expand the pace of anywork.Forinstance, ifthe construction of a road needs to be completed quickly, us- ing more laborers is a better option than relying on the latest machinery. The main basis behind this mindset undoubtedly stems from the limited availability of eco- nomic resources in society. Research and develop- ment (R&D) advocates ar- gue that greater investment in this area is essential for India to achieve economic independence. India has beenmakinggreatstridesin this area in recent years, demonstrating that the na- tion is spending more mon- ey on R&D to improve the workforce’s skill set. Given that customers may now re- ceive their selected prod- ucts within ten minutes of placing an order, it is clear thatbusinesseslikeSwiggy, Zomato, Infomart, Blinkist, etc., are making wise finan- cial decisions to invest in their employees’ research anddevelopment.Inbigcit- ies, when a taxi reaches the customer’s destination within five to ten minutes through a mobile applica- tion, it not only saves them from the struggles of public transportbutalsoeliminates the risk of navigating un- known routes. This innova- tion, mostly carried out by servicesectorcompanies,is remarkable. Isn’t it a groundbreaking innovation to provide technology-driv- en solutions to delivery workers or drivers in crowded areas, guiding them with minimal voice commands and ensuring timely delivery to custom- ers? Shouldn’t this be in- cluded under innovation? A novel concept has emerged in big cities, where customers can select their favorite vegetables through avirtualcard,andtheseveg- etables are delivered by a delivery boy to the custom- er’s doorstep without caus- ing any inconvenience. Startups are investing in re- search and development to facilitate their workers in residential colonies of large cities. These workers are granted access based on no- tificationsandOTPreceived through a mobile applica- tion, which ultimately pro- vides excellent convenience to the customers. Further- more, in large cities extend- ingupto30to40kilometers, courier services are now available on the same day. Alongside these develop- ments, it is worth mention- ing the successful Mumbai tiffin system that has been operating for the past three tofourdecades.Thissystem serves as an excellent exam- pleofinvestmentinresearch and development for work- ers in Indian society. The effectiveness of call centres in India, however, must be increased in order to address client concerns in the service industry. It’s common to see startups and different financial services organisations giving cus- tomers a portion of their costs that isn’t transparent during transactions. It is also crucial to make clear that many well-known businesses in industrialised nations continually spend in R&D to gain a competi- tive edge, setting off a trend of strong demand for their goods. In addition, the product life cycle (PLC) of different things has been steadily getting shorter over the past two to three decades. Typically, busi- nesses may charge a high selling price up front for a product before dropping it to half a year or two later. The main reason behind this is that these companies easily understand that they need to sell their products to affluent people in society during the initial stage and establish their product as a brand. It is a reality that the selling price obtained from these affluent people is twice the production cost and that profit is invested in research and development to quickly introduce new products for these same af- fluent individuals. Addi- tionally, under the current situation, things that are available should be offered to middle-class people for half the price during the initial term. Economic ine- quality in society has sig- nificantly increased as a result of these businesses’ huge earnings. It is also legitimate to claim that India’s auto and pharmaceutical industries have consistently increased their spending in R&D, which has improved their quality and reputation on a global scale. India created its own vaccine during the COVID-19 pandemic and made a big contribution to shielding 1.4 billion people from the disease’s negative consequences. Increased R&D with investments in the labour force to improve worker skills is a balanced strategy for India. New em- ployment opportunities will result from this, but new labour regulations will also be necessary to make this happen. THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY THE AUTHOR ARE PERSONAL TOP TWEETS SPIRITUAL SPEAK The news of the demise of Shri Madan Das Devi, a senior campaigner of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, is very sad. Your contribution in strengthening Indian culture by efficiently discharging various responsibilities like co-governance of the Sangh is unforgettable. His death is an irreparable loss to the society and the nation. Jagat Prakash Nadda @JPNadda Don’t judge according to appearances. Judge with right judgment. BIBLE PERSPECT VE www.firstindia.co.in firstindia.co.in/epapers/jaipur thefirstindia thefirstindia thefirstindia 02 Jaipur, Tuesday | July 25, 2023 ECONOMIC INEQUALITY Additionally, under the current situation, things that are available should be offered to middle-class people for half the price during the initial term. Eco- nomic inequality in society has significantly increased as a result of these busi- nesses’ huge earnings. It is also legitimate to claim that India’s auto and phar- maceutical industrieshave consistently increased their spending in RD, which has improved their quality and reputation on a global scale. India created its own vaccine during the COVID-19 pandemic and made a big contribution to shielding 1.4 billion people from the disease’s negative consequences. Increased RD with invest- ments in the labour force to improve worker skills is a balanced strategy for India. New employment opportu- nities will result from this, but new labour regulations will also be necessary to make this happen. RDINANEWWAYFOR INDIANSTARTUPS India has established itself as a significant global player based on the rate of its economic growth. This is demonstrated by the fact that it is one of the top five economies in the world. This claim is based on the fact that while RD expenditures as a percentage of GDP in India are only 0.7%, they account for 1.8% of the global average.Companies worldwide spend over two-thirds of their yearly profits to RD, compared to slightly over one-third for Indian businesses IN-DEPTH MUSK CROSSES OUT THE BLUE BIRD OF TWITTER LOGO A BIZARRE ADVICE ON PRICES OF TOMATOES he little blue bird on the micro-blogging site Twitter has been “crossed” out as Elon Musk, the owner, set out to rebrand the site. The Twitter.com site now has an “X” written with blue lines. Besides its website the new logo was dis- played on the company’s office in San Francisco. It may eventually be brought in sync with Musk-owned SpaceX, which makes launch vehicles and spacecraft and Twitter’s company name. Before introducing the new logo, which is not even half as eye-catching as the blue bird, Musk said, “Soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.” Musk’s stint as Twitter’s owner has been a turbu- lent one starting with the sacking of Parag Agarwal from the post of CEO. He then changed the compa- ny’s name to X Corp. The billionaire has a fascination for “X”. Besides SpaceX and X Corp, he also found- ed a startup named X.com, an online financial ser- vices company now called PayPal. T ratibha Shukla, UP’s Minister of State for Women Development and Child Nutrition has a set of advice for people complaining about the high prices of tomatoes: Don’t eat toma- toes, eat lemon instead or start growing the fruit to avoid feeling the pinch. There are some problems with the honourable minister’s suggestions. First, prices of several commodities are touching the sky so should one stop consuming all those things or start growing them at home? Also, where’s the space for growing any crop in apartments. Is that practically possible? And substituting one product with another is also not possible as a law of eco- nomics tells us that rise in de- mand can lead to price hike. The saving grace was that the minister did not sound like France’s Queen Marie-Antoinette to whom the quote “if people can’t afford bread they should eat cake” is attributed as other than substi- tuting tomato with lemon she gave a few other options as well. However, replacing toma- toes with lemon would have made sense decades ago when only one tomato crop was sown in a year. Now tomatoes are grown in different regions at different times. It would have been sensible for the minister to suggest security and better return to farmers for their produce. In these times of severe shortage of tomatoes, if the looting of crops from fields and trucks could have been prevented, farmers could have earned some profit. Had there been enough food processing industries, tomatoes could have been stored at homes in the form of puree. Interests of farmers and consumers need to be protected. P Pratibha Shukla, UP’s Minister of State for Women Development and Child Nutrition has a set of advice for people complaining about the high prices of tomatoes: Don’t eat tomatoes, eat lemon instead or start growing the fruit to avoid feeling the pinch. Rajendra Chhabra Jaipur Transfer of officers is a routine process in the government and under this, senior administra- tors get transferred in districts. But sometimes it so happens that an of- ficer becomes so famous and loved by the public, owing to the work done, that the locals are per- turbed with the transfer of the officer and start protesting to cancel the transfer. In this matter, the ex- ample of IAS Samit Sharma has become a historic fact. In 2009, he was serving as Collector of Chittorgarh and in 2011, he served as Col- lector of Nagaur district and both the times when he was transferred, the locals from the districts carried out protests for several days and even or- ganised ‘bandh’ to pres- surise the government. Now, after 12 years, a similar kind of incident has been repeated. Through the transfer list of July 13, DoP trans- ferred Divisional Com- missioner of Bikaner, Neeraj K Pawan to Jaipur. In his one and a half year long tenure, Pawan engaged in re- moval of encroach- ments, bettering the traf- fic situation as well as the beautification and betterment of the ba- zaars in the city due to which he became a ‘fa- vourite’ of the people. So it did not go down well with the people when Pawan was trans- ferred and erecting a tent, people started pro- testing against the trans- fer. Interestingly, former minister Devi Singh Bhati also participated in the protest. But neither did the State government cancel the transfer of Samit Sharma at that time, nor did it do so in Neeraj K Pawan’s case. When af- ter five days Neeraj joined in Jaipur, the agi- tation in Bikaner also ended. Administrative ex- perts believe that the manner employed to get the transfer cancelled was wrong and cannot be accepted. In fact, this hurts the officer. Some- time back, Udaipur Col- lector Tarachand Meena was honoured by the tribals living in the dis- trict and two ministers of the government also took part in the pro- gramme. But this did not go down well with some seniors in Jaipur. Word is that it is due to this that Meena was transferred out of the Udaipur Col- lectorate. The splashing of water pud- dles on the street, the gentle pitter-patter on rooftops, andthebuzzing and chirping of insects seem to come alive in harmony with the rain- drops. But what reso- natesmostisthesoundof children, with glistening eyes and eager hearts, asking their mothers if theycangooutanddance in the rain. And predict- ably, the answer always seems to range from somewhat negative to a hard ‘NO’. Bathing in the rain has often received a bad rep- utation due to the occa- sional common cold and sickness that follows. However, what many may not know is that rainwater is actually in- credibly beneficial for our health. The droplets that descend from the heavens are not just ordi- nary water; they are lad- en with microscopic or- ganisms that produce vi- taminB12asametabolic byproduct of their activ- ity. Thus, ameredancein the rain can provide a boost to our body’s vita- min B12 levels, promot- ing overall health and well-being. Apart from the physi- cal health benefits, there are numerous psycho- logical advantages to be- ing in the rain. As rain- drops gently caress our skin, they trigger the re- lease of hormones like endorphins and seroto- nin, instantly uplifting our mood and relieving tension. This natural therapy of sorts can be likened to a rejuvenating spa session, where the soul finds solace in the simplicity and purity of the moment. In essence, dancing in the rain be- comes a form of medita- tion, where one connects with nature, leaving be- hind the worries and dis- tractions of daily life. Rain is undoubtedly one of the most enchanting gifts of nature to human- ity. As it showers down from the heavens, it cleanses the earth and everything upon it, sym- bolizing renewal and re- generation. For those who embrace the rain and immerse themselves in its beauty, it becomes a source of inspiration and wonder, reminding them of the profound connections between all living beings and the natural world. In today’s fast-paced and increas- ingly urbanized world, many people find them- selves detached from na- ture, confined within concrete jungles and cars all day long. The pursuit of material possessions and success can often lead them astray from whattrulymattersinlife. But amidst the chaos, there are those who recognize the pro- found significance of nature’s gifts and seek solace in its simplicity. They are the ones who dance in the rain, rekindling a primal con- nection to the Earth and re- minding us all of the beauty that lies beneath the con- crete. So, as the rains pour down, let us not be de- terred by societal norms or fleeting discomforts. Let us embrace the rain with open arms and danceinitssymphony, for in doing so, we re- discover our true es- sence, ourplaceinthe grand tapestry of life.
