When expanding or starting a new company internationally, one of the most crucial steps is deciding who to designate in charge of foreign operations. Should you send an expatriate overseas or should you hire a local? Every situation is unique, but there are many pros and cons for either strategy.

  • Anyone who has slogged away at a career, for some 44 years+; has likely had a series of accomplishments of which they are proud. Mine have been somewhat unique. My greatest achievement, came when I was just fifteen years old. When I submitted to a poster contest for the band, Strawberry Alarm Clock which would be performing at the legendary Fillmore East. My design is everywhere today, as a representation of the late 60's-early 70's, known as the tie-dyed Peace symbol. Additionally success again visited; as cinematographer on the second highest grossing adult film of all time (The Erotic Adventures of Candy); and as one of the first five male exotic dancers in America. And lastly, in that America, is a much less racist environment today. Dr. King, and the black men willing to go to prison for their dignity. My part, however small, was an afro-centric ideal within my imagery, which saw me banned from numerous shows and competitions. Art, at its' best acts as a rudder for society as a whole. It is not what you see at a museum. These art historians are not deep-career artists, and tend to skew our field. My art will probably be dismissed as perhaps a historical footnote. But I have never been bested by any other artist. Ever. I took third place in Creative Capitals' Genius Award. And in a frank conversation, was told that they simply could not allow a fetish artist the prize.
