2. Feedback
To ensure that I made my documentary the best it can be as the final product, I
have decided to make 3 drafts of my documentary to be able to see my
process throughout the editing process. This also allows me to gain feedback
from my peers which are part of my target audience for this project. By gaining
feedback I am able to see what I need to improve on and what I have done
well so far. To find out this information I created a short google survey by
asking 2 questions which were:
What could I improve on?
What have I done well?

3. When thinking of questions to ask my target audience I decided on asking 2
questions that I knew would benefit me when making improvements to my
first draft. The first question I asked was:
What could I improve on?
By asking this question I can see that I need to improve on:
Fill in cuts between interview
Add more on Sam Fender
More footage between the interviews
Get rid of random cuts in interview
By asking this question this allows me to see what I have not done correctly
within the first draft and this also allows me to see what I need to add to my
final product t ensure that it is up to a high standard. For my first draft I was
missing a lot of footage which then prevented me from going any further with
this draft. For example, due to difficulty in scheduling I was unable to get the
other footage for James interview which is what the gaps within his interview
is. I was also unable to travel to Tynemouth at the time which is why Sam
Fenders section is so small in this first draft.

4. The final question that I believe would benefit me from asking was:
What have I done well?
By asking this question I found that I had done well on:
I liked the growing text as it grabbed my attention
I liked the lighting on the interview
I liked the interview that was playing in the background in the beginning
The growing text
From asking this question I am able to see what I have done well so far in the
first draft and what I can keep in for the final product. As my peers are within the
given 16-24 target audience age bracket it is important that I gain their opinions
to see if any factor of my documentary has grabbed their attention. From the
survey results I can see that the text at the start had grabbed some peoples
attention which was my attention as the text grows towards the screen to allow
the audience to see the title of the documentary and as it is the first thing they
see I wanted it to really grab their attention. Another thing that was mentioned
was the interview during the introduction, I added an interview that Sam Fender
did in the background to once again grab the audiences attention as the start is
just a black screen and white text they are able to focus on the interview in the
background and get an idea of what the section after the introduction will be
which in this case is Sam Fender. The final thing that was mentioned was the
lighting for the interview with James which due to technical difficulties I had to
change during the editing process which I am pleased people like as I wanted
the lighting to create a more eye grabbing effect and allow the audience to focus
on the James and what he had to say in the interview.
