What one thing appears on the priority list of
many pastors, leaders of ministries,
entrepreneurs and sales persons?
This one thing is the need to build their base
Many have a strong desire for more members,
more customers or more supporters
But what tools can be used to accomplish
these goals and what tools are simply over-
rated?
External factors such as public relations and
competition will not build a base as
powerfully as internal resources, capabilities,
quality, sincerity, effectiveness, hard work and
faith ever could

In the text, Contemporary Strategy Analysis,
Robert Grant identifies an organization’s
internal resources and capabilities as the # 1
factor in securing its strength and
sustainability
This takes the emphasis from external factors
and bases the success of the organization on
its internal resources such as its people and
their capabilities
The important thing is to maximize these
internal resources to the extent that they can
render the organization attractive and viable
This may involve doing an audit of the persons
in the organization and maximizing the
spiritual gifts and talents of these persons
Quality
A base will be built where there is
uncompromising and unquestionable quality
A focus on quality requires choosing to do
what is done best
Where quality is optimal, there will always be
a demand for more
Sincerity & Effectiveness
A base grows from a genuine desire to help
others
A base grows when there is the ability to:
(i) accurately assess the needs of the target
audience
(ii) show persons how they stand to benefit
from the organization’s offerings
(iii) find the ideal solutions for problems faced
by the target audience
Hard Work & Faith
A strong drive and hard work will get the job
done but they must be fueled by the faith that
the target will be reached
There must be consultations with God and the
faith that God answers prayers
With faith, the target will be reached and
surpassed
With faith, the base will be built beyond
expectations
Matthew 8:13 states, ““Then Jesus said to
the centurion, “Go! It will be done just as you
believed it would””
If the target is to grow the base by x%, by x
time, it will be done just as one believes. Go!
All honour be to the Most High God,
the Lord Jesus Christ, who enriches
us with the ability to build our base

  • 2. What one thing appears on the priority list of many pastors, leaders of ministries, entrepreneurs and sales persons?
  • 3. This one thing is the need to build their base
  • 4. Many have a strong desire for more members, more customers or more supporters
  • 5. But what tools can be used to accomplish these goals and what tools are simply over- rated?
  • 6. External factors such as public relations and competition will not build a base as powerfully as internal resources, capabilities, quality, sincerity, effectiveness, hard work and faith ever could
  • 7. Internal Resources & Capabilities Quality Sincerity & Effectiveness Hard Work & Faith
  • 9. In the text, Contemporary Strategy Analysis, Robert Grant identifies an organization’s internal resources and capabilities as the # 1 factor in securing its strength and sustainability
  • 10. This takes the emphasis from external factors and bases the success of the organization on its internal resources such as its people and their capabilities
  • 11. The important thing is to maximize these internal resources to the extent that they can render the organization attractive and viable
  • 12. This may involve doing an audit of the persons in the organization and maximizing the spiritual gifts and talents of these persons
  • 14. A base will be built where there is uncompromising and unquestionable quality
  • 15. A focus on quality requires choosing to do what is done best
  • 16. Where quality is optimal, there will always be a demand for more
  • 18. A base grows from a genuine desire to help others
  • 19. A base grows when there is the ability to: (i) accurately assess the needs of the target audience (ii) show persons how they stand to benefit from the organization’s offerings (iii) find the ideal solutions for problems faced by the target audience
  • 20. Hard Work & Faith
  • 21. A strong drive and hard work will get the job done but they must be fueled by the faith that the target will be reached
  • 22. There must be consultations with God and the faith that God answers prayers
  • 23. With faith, the target will be reached and surpassed
  • 24. With faith, the base will be built beyond expectations
  • 25. Matthew 8:13 states, ““Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! It will be done just as you believed it would””
  • 26. If the target is to grow the base by x%, by x time, it will be done just as one believes. Go!
