manner so that it can be understood by any tester
Test Scripts will cover Positive and Negative
testing which unfortunately is something that lacks
in a lot of testing environments
Traceability of Test Scripts to Requirements and
Solution Design
Creation and Maintenance of Regression Test
Suite for ongoing testing
6. Test Execution
Execution of Test Scripts in detailed manner
ensuring that any discrepancies are updated on
Test Script or if a defect, added to defect
management system
Use of a methodology that matches the
learning process to ensure effective tester
engagement with the system
7. Defect Management
Defect Management is a big area. If not managed
effectively, huge defects can go by the wayside
Will bring a wealth of experience into Defect
Management by firstly documenting an appropriate
Defect Management Process
Once process is in place, the defect tool needs to be in
place, it could be a spreadsheet or a commercially available
tool such as JIRA

each defect has enough information for resolution, has
been categorised correctly and has been actioned in
accordance with agreed SLA’s
Daily reporting of defects

9. Test Execution
Test execution includes the execution of test cases or
test scripts, manually or in an automated way, the
logging of test results, comparison of the expected and
actual results, reporting the incidents and retesting the
fixed bugs.
I have expertise in the following Testing Levels as they
are known: System and Integration Testing, Regression
Testing, Performance and Load Testing, Production
Verification Testing, User Acceptance Testing and
Disaster Recovery Testing
10. Testing Types
Within any given Testing Levels such as System and Integration
Testing and User Acceptance Testing there are some of the
Testing Types which I have been involved in and will briefly outline
below
Installation Testing – brief test to ensure that everything has been
installed correctly to proceed with further testing
Compatability Testing – to ensure that software is compatible
with other application software or operating systems which is a
common cause of software failure and therefore implementation
Destructive Testing – attempts to cause the software or a sub-
system to fail and verify that the software functions properly even
when it receives unexpected inputs
Security Testing – to ensure that the software that processes
confidential data to prevent unwanted intrusion
Usability testing - is to check if the user interface is easy to use and
understand
11. Test Reporting
As well as a Daily Test Report, I will ensure a detailed and useful Test
Report at the end of Testing or when required which will outline:
• number of test cases executed
• number of test cases not executed and the reasons why
• number of defects along with their severities
• number of outstanding defects and explanation as to why they are still
outstanding
•Test duration
•Test Analysts involved
