As the reddened dawn arises and with it

Frost, snow, and the promise of a glorious day
Tīhei mauri ora
And let there be wellbeing to one and all!

May the calm be widespread
Kia whakapapa pounamu te moana
May the sea glisten like the pounamu
Kia tere te Kārohirohi
And may the shimmer of summer
Ki mua i tō huarahi
Dance across your pathway
