2. AIR POLLUTION
Any visible or invisible particle or gas found in the air that
is not part of the original, normal composition.
3. A primary pollutant is an air
pollutant emitted directly from a
source
A secondary pollutant is not
directly emitted as such, but
forms when other pollutants
(primary pollutants) react in the
atmosphere.
5. • Colorless, odorless
• Produced when carbon
does not burn in fossil
fuels
• Present in car exhaust
• Deprives body of O2
causing headaches
6. • Produced when coal and
fuel oil are burned
• Present in power plant
exhaust
• Narrows the airway,
causing wheezing and
shortness of breath,
especially in those with
asthma
7. • Produced when nitric
oxide combines with
oxygen in the
atmosphere
• Reddish, brown gas
• Present in car exhaust
and power plants
• Affects lungs and causes
wheezing; increases
chance of respiratory
infection
8. • At upper level, ozone save Earth
from sun’s harmful UV rays
• At ground level, ozone is
harmful pollutants
• Formed from car, power and
chemical plant exhaust
• Irritate respiratory system and
asthma; reduces lung function
by inflaming and damaging
lining of lungs
9. • Particles of different sizes and
structures that are released into
the atmosphere
• Present in many sources
including fossil fuels, dust,
smoke, fog, etc.
• It can effect respiratory system
• Aggravates heart and lung
disease; increases risk of
respiratory infection
10. The project aims to achieve the following-
Inform public regarding overall status of air quality through a
summation parameter that is easy to understand.
Inform citizens about associated health impacts of air
pollution exposure
Rank cities/towns for prioritizing actions based on measure
of AQ

12. The study area is bounded between 24.028’24” to 24.039’11” north
latitude and 81005’46” and 81017’23” east longitude (Approx).
Jaypee cement limited is operating a 2.8 MTPA cement
manufacturing plant at Jaypee nagar which is 15 km from Rewa
town. The study site Naubasta village which is close to from
cement plant is situated about 1.5km towards NE direction from the
source of emission. The population of village is 2046 and has
surface area of 532. 67 hectare

14. The air quality monitoring network in India can be
classified as-
1.Online Monitoring network- These are automated air quality
monitoring stations which record continuous hourly, monthly or
annually averaged data. In India 40 automatic monitoring stations
are operated
2. Manaul- The manual stations involve mostly intermittent air quality
data collection, thus such stations are not suitable for AQI
calculation particularly for its quick dissemination. In India, air
quality is being monitored manually at 573 locations under National
Air Monitoring Programme (NAMP)

18. Air pollution effects adversely the living standard
of human and their health. industry effects crop production
of nearest land , so it should be faraway. We should use less
polluted like CNG , electric vehicle. Environment ministry
should work effectively about pollution.
