This document discusses the DEMETER project, which aims to increase transparency in food supply chains using blockchain and knowledge graph technologies. It provides an overview of DEMETER and its goals of integrating data from multiple stakeholders in a decentralized knowledge graph to provide verifiable claims about data integrity and provenance. The document outlines challenges in the food sector around obtaining farm data to support sustainability claims and achieving radical transparency and trust.
