Twitter accounts are rated
How much do you use your Twitter account
and for what reasons? I have been using
Twitter for about 18 months now. The first
account I set up was Laperegrina - taken
from the famous Pearl given to Elizabeth
Taylor by Richard Burton and also using a
take on my own name - Pearl this account
now boasts over 10,000 followers and has a
Twitter grade of 100/100 Twitterholic.com
rated the @laperegrina account 12,726
world wide and 24 in the UK as at 30/10/
10. We now run 9 Twitter accounts and
counting with a current total following of
just under 34,000. I tend to choose Twitter account names to coincide
with the keywords I am looking to promote. Another good site to
register your Twitter account with is Twellow the equivalent of the
Twitter Yellow Pages - a directory of the areas the Twitter accounts
specialise in.
I will often check through the accounts I am following and re-tweet
the posts I feel are most relevant or the account poster has highlighted a
useful or helpful article. I will often look to follow accounts that have a
similar interest to mine or for the celebrity accounts most definitely its
for the gossip value!
2. Facebook - the new group settings
The
beginning of
October saw
Facebook launch
their new group
settings. This
allows you to set
up a group and
make it private
to those users
only - a perfect
solution for a
work
collaboration or a family only get together. You are given the flexibility
of using the group for private email correspondence as well as group
discussions and image sharing. Great for family only photos as well as
the aforementioned work collaborations. Giving you more control gives
Mark Zuckerberg's ideas behind the launch of the new look Facebook
groups. HHME feel this re launch of the Group settings could also have
something to do with the EU legislation 12 May 2010 Article 29 Data
Protection Party set up to look at safer social networking principles for
the EU. All in all it is a positive move that makes the use of groups
within Facebook far more security conscious.
