IMAGES SHOULD TELL THE STORYIMAGES SHOULD TELL THE STORY
Utilize the images on each screen to enhance the story and immerse the learning in your
scenario’s environment.Fill each screen completely with each image and stay away from
solid backgrounds and small images with borders.
CREATE UNIQUE IMAGESCREATE UNIQUE IMAGES
Sometimes the best image for the job can’t be found by surfing the web.Don’t hesistate to
create your own imagesor take your own pictures so the learner can see exactly
what you want them to.
USE GOOD QUALITY IMAGESUSE GOOD QUALITY IMAGES
Use images that appear clear and focus on the subject of the slide.Use photo-editing tools
to clean up images by straightening the horizon, removing unwanted content, and cropping
empty space to around the subject to center.
REDUCE DISTRACTIONSREDUCE DISTRACTIONS
Whether you’re using photographic images or illustrations,
make sure everything in the image is relevant to the scenario.Extra items in
the images can distract the learner or make your screens look‘busy’.
INCORPORATEYOUR CHOICESINCORPORATEYOUR CHOICES
Design each slide so that your learner’s choices, navigation, and buttons are a part of
the scene in front of them. For example,if you have a task the requries the learner
to select the correct tool, use images of the tool instead of a button with a word.
