3. MISSION
We partner on new and existing projects to
● foster cross-sectoral collaborations among formal and non-formal
education providers engaged in sustainability education,
● support the organization of and the access to equitable, quality
sustainability education
● empower sustainability education professionals
● develop research projects to help advance the practice of
sustainability education overall
4. Ongoing collaborations

- Cities of Phoenix and Tempe,
- Public schools (Alhambra Elementary School District, Echo Canyon School, and Machan School),
- Community colleges (Mesa Community College, Maricopa Community College District) and
- Non-profit organizations (Local First Arizona (representing local businesses), Arizona Sustainability
Alliance (representing various civil society organizations)).

● Established Community of Practice for furthering
research on ESD
● Mapping and showcasing existing sustainability
education opportunities at ASU and in the Valley
● Developing funding strategy for priority action
areas
● Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR)
collaboration with City of Tempe
● Ongoing professional development with Greater
Phoenix teachers
● Establishing Sustainability Education Hub at
local Tempe High School (Corona del Sol)
