HISTORICAL BAKGROUND
In 1905, Einstein suggested an experiment that provided the first convincing
experimental verification of Quantum theory.Though photo emission of electrons
was first observed by Hertz in 1877.
INTRODUCTION
What is photoelectric effect?
The photoelectric effect is the emission of electrons when electromagnetic
radiation, such as light, hits a material. Electrons emitted in this manner are called
photoelectrons
We have to prove that the velocity of electrons leaving the surface of a metal when
irradiated by monochromatic light depends upon the wavelength not upon the
intensity of the radiation .
