760.422.3452 14080 Palm Drive #D-422, Desert Hot Springs, CA 92240 heather@desertlightning.org
 Desert Lightning (AKA Desert Hot Springs Chamber Foundation) was established October 2013. We have
identified that in order to help raise people out of poverty throughout the region, we would have to be flexible and
serve them in a multitude of areas from business repair, growth and startup to training, job placement assistance
and access to capital.
 On April 10, 2015 we secured our office lease at 14080 Palm Drive Suite A, Desert Hot Springs and officially
opened to the public June 2015.
 July 22, 2015 we formally signed a Strategic Alliance Resource Partner Agreement with the U.S. Small
Business Administration Santa Ana District Office, which recognizes Desert Lightning as a Business
Resources Service Provider along with SCORE, SBDC and CV Women’s Business Center.
 From June 2015 to April 2016 we have received 85 completed applications for local assistance from
individuals and businesses from Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, Yucca Valley, La Quinta, Indio and Coachella.
 Conducted 129 client assessment interviews from June 2015-Apr 2016 for proper program recommendations
and placement.
 15 companies we are working with are slated for growth in the 3rd & 4th quarters of 2016. They work
remotely with drop in status at the campus.
 As of Apr 2016, we are working with 12 start-up companies, two of which are international. (France &
China)
 Desert Lightning has successfully launched 2 start-ups that continue to receive ongoing mentoring and support
services. (WOLSOM University -15 employees & Urban Management Strategies)
 Successfully facilitated a loan package for expansion needs of Helbar Inc. via Rabobank. With our assistance
they have now expanded to two (2) store locations and increased to their employee base to seventeen (17)
and gross sales to over $1.2 million dollars.
 Another existing company and Desert Lightning client has now crossed $1 million dollars in gross sales and
plans to purchase a piece of property here in DHS, open two additional retail trade locations and lease out
two (2) more spaces to selected Desert Lightning new business start-ups.
 Remote business incubation to a foreign startup company, Anywhere Zest, which has opened their North
America office in Desert Hot Springs first quarter of 2016. This will be bringing significant numbers in jobs and
training into the desert region. (Construction, technology and administrative job creation)
 We have facilitated 45 business training, lectures and support events from June 2015-Apr 2016.
 1230 individuals have passed through the doors of Desert Lightning from June 2015 to Apr 2016.
 Desert Lightning was awarded five (5) laptops from a Sothern California Edison Grant in November 2015. We
now have eight (8) computer stations for clients to work from.
