Researching into what the key factors are that make
phenomenal Ucas personal statements, I found out that there
are a multitude of things that I should do to ensure the best
personal statement possible. The key points I found were: to
talk about why I’m a good candidate (my interests,
motivations and why I want to do a specific course), to be
enthusiastic as showing my interest in the course may help
me get a place, to making the entire personal statement
relative to the course, to outlining my ideas clearly, to avoid
any negatives and mostly shine a light on the positive aspects
about me, to do several drafts of my personal statement to

Along with researching the positive aspects to apply to an Ucas
personal statement, I decided to look into what not to do for the
statement which I found out includes: to not be modest or shy so my
passion comes across, to not exaggerate otherwise I may get caught
out in an interview when asked to elaborate about a certain topic, to
not use quotes from someone else or cliches, to not leave it until the
last minute otherwise the statement will feel rushed and some key
information may be left out, to not let spelling and grammatical errors
ruin my statement, to not copy and paste and to try not worrying about
it. Using this, I am much more prepared to create an Ucas personal
statement as if I didn’t do this, my statement wouldn’t be as
professional and would miss out on a few things that could improve it
