April 2013 to Present Tyson Lighting – Senior Product Design Engineer & Lighting Scheme Designer
Product Design Responsibilities
Translate rough design concepts from clients into engineering drawings of feasible bespoke products
Sourcing technical components for bespoke light fittings
Finding and approving external fabricators to produce intricate components from detailed drawings
Coordinating externally manufactured components to be assembled into full bespoke light fittings
Providing accurate cost estimates of product design proposal from clients
Producing detailing information such as component and assembly drawings for the production dept.
Building BOM’s on the company’s ERP system in order to pass detailed information on for
manufacture
Lighting Scheme Design Responsibilities
Sourcing technical products from specialist manufacturers to suit project specifications
Producing lighting, wiring and controls schematics to deliver a complete lighting solution that meets
the client’s expectations
2. Providing lighting calculations and 3D scenes in Dialux to visualize and verify proposed lighting
schemes
Liaising with contractors, architects, interior designers and end clients to produce bespoke products
that meet specification and help to coordinate the installation of them
CAD packages I have experience with include - AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Relux, Dialux, Photoshop, Sketchup
and Sage 200
November 2011 to March 2013 Luxonic Lighting – Lighting Scheme and Controls Designer
Design full lighting layouts including controls whilst adhering to the building specification or using my own
lighting expertise. Also providing lighting requirement calculations using Dialux.
Create wiring schematic diagrams to show how a full lighting control system will work.
Produce quotes from my designs along with technical documents and energy usage comparisons for
project proposals.
Liaise with architects, contractors, consultants and end users to provide technical information. Also attend
site for surveying when required or to advise contractors on installation issues.

Use my lighting knowledge and design skills to create complete lighting schemes for public buildings,
offices and commercials premises whilst adhering to industry regulations.

company products on site.

and installation.

and quality control manuals.
Interests and Hobbies
In my spare time I teach myself how to build websites as a hobby and to satisfy my technical mind. I regularly
participate in physical activity especially football as I believe in the theory that a healthy body equals a healthy
mind. I also enjoy socialising and meeting new people as I believe it is important to build a network of reliable
friends.
