An organisation’s strategic
planning could either be a benefit
or a failure. Several people bring
“stuff” to the board. Some people
have already had dreadful
encounters. They are adamant
about not devoting effort and
resources to it. Others sigh, their
eyes glaze over, and they have
little faith in the processes’ ability
to deliver any tangible results.
Another approaches the
procedure with passion and
creates amazing achievements.
1. Put effort into “thinking to
prepare.”
Obtain the CEO’s and top
management’s commitment.
Ascertain that the CEO and top
leadership will engage
effectively. This requires them
to free their calendars in order
to join all facial expression
strategy and planning
meetings.
Decide if an internal or external trainer will be used. All those involved can
actually engage in the strategic thinking activities with the help of an
external trainer. When inquiries are posed, it is exceedingly hard for an
inside individual to both facilitate and share their inner ideas.
2. Become familiar with the
process’s major aspects and the
facilitator’s personality.
Performing an Environmental Analysis — This will
assist you in gaining a better understanding of the
present environment in which your companies
operate.
The organization’s Basic Values, Purpose,
and Mission are being established or
reinforced.
Finding and selecting the most crucial
power problems and approaches
Educating people who will be involved in
the planning process on the advantages
of doing so.
3. Carry out the corporate
strategy exercises.
Determine the practicalities of any
pre-session exercises with the
presenter. Decide how you’ll carry
out those duties: through
telephone, mail, faxes, or mail. Who
will disseminate the data?
4. Put the strategy plan in
motion.
The activity plan’s implementation is critical to your ultimate
effectiveness. Planning process entails a lot more than just
tactical planning and competitive strategy.
5. Re-evaluate and modify your
content.
