  1. 1. 12 HEALTH BENEFITS AND 6 DISADVANTAGES OF COFFEE - SMASHING IT! For millennia, coffee has been both lauded and derided. It's been blamed for causing impotence and insanity, as well as being a treatment for lethargy and a "gift from God." It's a big deal. But, in today's world, what are the genuine, scientifically proven benefits and drawbacks of coffee? The most well-known element in coffee is caffeine, the most extensively ingested psychoactive chemical on the planet. Although its health benefits have been thoroughly studied, coffee as a whole is a complex beverage containing a thousand distinct components. According to certain research, decaf and caffeinated coffee may have different effects.
  2. 2. have similar health impacts, suggesting that the majority of coffee's health advantages are not due to caffeine. Coffee research and its benefits and drawbacks for humans is far from complete, but here is a summary of what we already know. 12 HEALTH BENEFITS OF COFFEE 1. Coffee improves your physical stamina. Drinking a cup of black coffee an hour before a workout can boost your performance by 11-12 percent. Caffeine raises the amount of adrenaline in your blood. Adrenaline is the "fight or flight" hormone in your body, and it helps you prepare for physical effort. 2. Coffee may aid in weight loss. Coffee includes magnesium and potassium, which aid in the utilization of insulin, the regulation of blood sugar levels, and the reduction of your desire for sweet treats and snacks. 3. Coffee aids with weight loss. Caffeine aids fat cells in breaking down body fat and using it as training fuel. 4. Coffee aids concentration and alertness. Caffeine use of 1-6 cups per day helps you focus and boosts mental alertness.
  3. 3. 5. Coffee can help you live longer. Coffee consumers had a 25% reduced overall risk of early mortality than non-coffee drinkers, according to studies. 6. Coffee helps to lower cancer risk. Coffee has been demonstrated to reduce the incidence of prostate cancer in males by 20% and endometrial cancer in women by 25%, according to one research. The participants in the study consumed four cups of coffee each day. Caffeine may also help to prevent the most prevalent kind of skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma. 7. Coffee lowers the chance of a stroke. A moderate amount of coffee (2–4 cups per day) is linked to a decreased risk of stroke. 8. Coffee has been shown to lower the risk of Parkinson's disease. According to studies, drinking coffee on a daily basis reduces the risk of Parkinson's disease by 25%. There is evidence that coffee stimulates the portion of the brain that is impaired by Parkinson's disease.
  4. 4. 9. Coffee is good for your health. Coffee is high in antioxidants, which act as small fighters in your body, battling and defending you from free radicals. 10. Coffee has been linked to a reduced incidence of Type 2 diabetes. Caffeine reduces glucose tolerance and lowers insulin sensitivity, lowering your risk of type 2 diabetes. 11. Coffee is beneficial to your mental health. Caffeine levels in the blood are linked to a lower risk of Alzheimer's disease. It also reduces the chances of dementia. 12. Coffee improves your mood, aids in the treatment of depression, and reduces the risk of suicide. Caffeine activates the central nervous system and increases the synthesis of mood-enhancing neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and
  5. 5. noradrenaline. A daily dose of two cups of coffee reduces the risk of suicide by half. If you want to add natural stimulants to your coffee, have a look at these suggestions. Yes, if you drink 80-100 cups (23 liters) in a short session. This dose is lethal and will amount to 10-13 grams of caffeine within your body. Before you reach this point, however, you'll be vomiting most of it out since 23 liters of any liquid is a lot. Even drinking 23 liters of water can kill you. 3. Coffee can cause insomnia and restlessness. Again, it's the caffeine working here. Your recommended maximum amount of caffeine is 400 milligrams, roughly the amount that you’ll get from 4 cups of coffee. If you’re caffeine-sensitive, be careful with coffee. You are probably already aware of what amount and what kind of coffee suits, or doesn't suit you. The amount of caffeine that is safe for human consumption is actually written in our DNA. 4. Don’t drink more than one cup a day if you’re pregnant. Studies on coffee's effect on a fetus have been controversial, but one thing is sure: if you drink coffee when pregnant, caffeine will also reach the fetus, and your baby is highly sensitive to caffeine. So, if you’re a heavyweight coffee drinker and can’t stop drinking it while pregnant, at least reduce your coffee intake to one cup a day. 5. If you have high cholesterol please choose filtered coffee. Coffee beans contain cafestol and kahweol, two ingredients that appear to raise LDL cholesterol levels. Filtering the coffee traps most of the LDL, but cafestol and kahweol are found in espresso, Turkish coffee, french press, and Scandinavian style “cooked coffee”.
  6. 6. (The amount of LDL in a cup of espresso is so minimal that persons with normal cholesterol levels are unaffected; there are also some preliminary studies that suggest that cafestol and kahweol may have anti-cancer and liver-health benefits.) 6. Coffee may cause bedwetting in children. According to one study, coffee use by 5-7-year-old children may promote enuresis, or bedwetting. SO, IS IT BETTER OR WORSE FOR YOU? You should avoid coffee if you have high cholesterol, are caffeine sensitive, pregnant, or have a kid (or are the parent of one). For others, moderate doses of coffee (1-6 cups per day) might be beneficial. It can help you lose weight, prevent dangerous ailments, and improve your mind and muscles. Remember, as long as you consume toxin-free specialty coffee and make it carefully, you can and should enjoy it knowing it's healthy.
