Moving from Processor-centric Computing (PCC) to Memory-driven Computing (MDC)
Today’s silicon-centric computing platforms are inherently inefficient as memory is tethered directly to each processor, making it difficult for this memory to be shared across platforms.
Clustered, node-based computation (needed for scale-out applications) is inhibited by the amount of memory that can be shared by processors in a coherent manner over a dedicated network.
MDC aggregates memory into a pool that is shared with and accessed equally by multiple processors (CPUs) and system-on-chips (SoCs), over a ultra-low-latency, high-bandwidth interconnect fabric.
The use of non-volatile memory enables MDC to be utilized for next-gen data-intensive applications
