3.  Rotaract is a Rotary sponsored service club for
young men and women ages 18-30 to take
action in their communities, develop their
leadership and professional skills, and have fun.
 Rotaract clubs are either community or
university based.

4.  Rotaract started in 1968,through a framework of
friendship and service.
 Rotaract was created by R.I as a combination of the
words Rotary and Action.
 The first Rotaract club was Rotaract club of North
Charlotte, North Carolina, USA; chartered on the
13th of March 1968(48 years)
 The first Rotaract club in Africa was Rotaract club
of Lagos (unilag).

5.  To develop professional and leadership skills.
 To emphasize respect for the rights of others, and
to promote ethical standards and the dignity of
all useful occupations.
 To provide opportunities for young people to
address the needs and concerns of the
community and our world.

6.  To provide opportunities for working in
cooperation with sponsoring Rotary clubs.
 To motivate young people for eventual
membership in Rotary.
