Frederik van den Broek developed an app called Mindapp to help brain tumor patients better manage their complex treatment plans and medications. He created the app after struggling himself to keep track of his various hospital appointments, tests, medications and instructions during his own brain tumor treatment journey. The app aims to give patients more control and ease over navigating their treatment by providing all relevant medical information and reminders in one centralized place. It was developed using a structured UX process with input from hospitals and patients to ensure it effectively meets users' needs.

Frederik van den Broek was born and raised in Limburg, The Netherlands.
After finishing his studies at the Faculty of Industrial Design of the University
of Technology Delft he started to work at various financial institutions such as
Robeco and ING. He specialized as information designer for the financial
world, aiming to make personal finance easier. In 2012 he was diagnosed
with a brain tumor.
He underwent surgery, but unfortunately the tumor started to grow again in
May 2015. He relocated from Barcelona, where he was living and working,
back to the Netherlands. Here, he had to undergo a very complicated
treatment, with many different pills and lots of tests and appointments in
different hospitals.
