A CRITIQUE PAPER: WHY THIS WORLD SHOULD END?
Ariana Grande’s popular music “Side to Side”, Britney Spears’ “Touch of My
Hand”, Rihanna’s “Sex with Me” are some of the 92% of songs on the radio that are
about to sex. Many listeners have been taken their soul as a response to quotation of
Riley Shane “Lust is a tool, desire a trap. Wield the first, and you can take someone’s
soul. Fall into the second, and they can take yours” with this kind of music. Truly this
world need to end; everything is polluted, education is shot, police are corrupt, lifespan
is getting shorter, interest are evil, characters are trash-“We can’t live with each other,
and we can’t live with ourselves, Intelligence are shunned and ignorance rewarded’ is
an agreeable matter in this literary work of Prince EA “Why I Think this World Should
end” because almost everyone have witness it. This piece is great having a value and
rational claims, narrative and conclusion format, and powerful message which makes
the reader connect parallel in author.
Reading this piece, make a justified conclusion because in his every claim shows
a database which supports it. “Ninety-two percent of the songs on the radio are about
sex” highlighting 92% statistics gives a concrete basis that it came from a survey study.
Actually what I have said in introduction is just three what if I enumerate them. Even
when he drew conclusion through his experiences, which makes value claim is
believable, “everybody knows everything, money is still the root of all evil, technology
has given us everything” because everyone have seen it, experienced it, witnessed it. In
his policy claim used, you can see an organized sentenced before which you can
conclude the possibilities.

As I said to it’s content, the narrative and the conclusion style are what makes
the literary organized inductively. Formatting this way allow readers to process what is
being said. By having the beginning and the end of this style connect and relate to one
another, the reader is able to have examples that proves that the conclusion is true.
Example, how the world is corrupt shows that the conclusion of the world needing to
change is accurate. Having examples before telling people what they should do also
gives credibility to conclusion. Another is he makes the reader equal to him or as peers
by using pronoun words such as we or us. “President Lie, politician trick us” using words
us allows the reader to relate with author. He is saying that he is not better than his
audience telling readers that he was also tricked by politicians which puts him on the
same level as his reader. This method shows that he was similar to his reader which
makes him relatable.
This work has a volume and powerful message to our generation today, through
talking directly to the readers by inviting readers’ participation. He is not pushing anyone
to do such things he is just asking the reader to help replacing the world. The author
invites the reader to help change the world and then he tells them how they can do that.
He invites first the audience to participate when he says “So what we can do in the face
of all this madness and chaos”. By using the word “we”, Prince Ea invites the reader by
telling them that they can help change the world. After posing the above question to his
reader, he says “You can love, love each other from the moment we wake up to the
moment we go to bed. Perform an act of kindness because that is contagious”. Here he
used the word “you” which empathize a direct speech to the reader.

In this work, the author wants to change us, every one of us to change our ways.
Our bad habits and the way we do things. We want 15 seconds of fame than a lifetime
of meaning and purpose; recently I have seen a Facebook post of cursing to God to
take an attention, likes and comments, as he expected millions of people reacted in his
post. Over the food course, we want more in an instant food; Foot long, Ham burger,
Pancit Canton than fresh fruit plus our farmers today have been invaded by science
because of the problem we made. They need now to be modified. Religion, in US you
can see a large discrimination in religion, previously i have watched a video log of
discrimination- A Muslim in her dress trying to leave belonging to a US national but the
US national says he does not want no one knows if it was a bomb you look like a
terrorist who will drop a bag for just killing us. I feel damn ashamed, this is us now. Our
Media relay shows depiction, if not violence a sinful matter. One prison man marked at
me when I hear media- He slashed someone’s neck in reverse blade and he says He
was just a Copycat of Samurai X kenshin Batousai. Truly media content affect largely to
everyone’s mind how about children they are more prone to the violence and crime we
produced in media. Technologies give us everything, the average person watches five
hours of television a day, I guess five hours too of smartphone a day. Technology killed
our time in every one of us in a weird manner. Playing twerk videos, finding chismis of
our neighbor, laughing at misfortunes of other and so on. Role model, Justin Bieber?
Whose druggy and smoking addicted, Jojo Binay who is totally corrupt- big portion of his
assets came from people’s fund. Business corporation who enchant us in their
confidence draining advertisement “white is the real beauty” how about black are they

bad? Just to sell their product they are crumbling our minds, our self-confidence to fit in
impossible standards they set.
This world should end because it everything now is polluted, everywhere shows
racism or different form of discrimination, characters are bad, intelligence is shunned
while ignorance rewarded, and many more full of negative things . My teacher, Ms
Austin said “ have we eaten by the system?”. But in the end we can start a new and
positive world full of beautiful and wonderful things. There are one more thing we can do
“LOVE EACH OTHER”. Love Bea Bronia, love Felize Villaluna, love Teacher Joyce,
love our school principal Ms. Lallaban, love my sister-in- law Mayi, my mother Leah, our
school guard Ms lady guard, enemy, stranger, criminal, vendor whoever they are love
them and the love we gave to them will spread like a virus because it is contagious-
Prince EA said. Changes start tomorrow.
