8. The IoT’s Universal Translator
Everyday things are not
connected and internally use
different proprietary
languages.
• Fragmentation.
• Disruption of the User
eXperience.
• More: a thing without an
App is noThing.

Why a user cannot measure her CO2 emission overall?
13. Automotive drives IoT revolution
It’s a bug that cars were
invented before
computers.

14. We want to enable companies, developers and makers
to create connected products and digital content
shifting the focus from Tech to Users and Communities.
We want to be for IoT what Android is to mobile devices.

DQuid IT with API, Servers and Ontologies
19. • There is a huge number of small businesses and
design shops that want to create connected
products.
• Retrofitting is a necessity and a great opportunity.

27. • We started to establish an international
developers & makers community
starting from Italy, UK, France and US.
• We manage workshops to teach how to
use our technology and find DQuid early
adopters.

Create vibrant communities for a Huge market
• By 2020 there will be 26 billion connected
objects [Gartner]
• The market value of connected objects by
2020 will be some $1.9 trillion [Gartner]
• The EU application developer workforce will
reach 4.8 million by 2020 [Gartner]
33. Conclusions
• IoT it’s the current bit thing (i.e. “industrial revolution”?)
• siamo all’inizio e c’è parecchio da fare
• non è un problema di tecnologie, ma di ecosistema
• il gioco è tripartito (utenti, sviluppatori, makers) ed è una
sfida a OEMs / Component Manufacturers
• serve un approccio lean e agile che favorisca l’emergere di
standard “de facto” per ridurre la complessità esplosiva di IoT
• i dati (le “telemetrie”) sono solo la preview: i contenuti
stanno arrivando e cambieranno il gioco.
