  2. Distraction can be anything that prevents you from focusing on doing a specific task. We all struggle with distractions to some degree. Distraction can take many forms, such as mobiles, games, social media, TV, etc. As a result, students struggle a lot to stay focused on their studies.
  3. Distractions are of different types. They can be internal as well external.  Internal Distractions: Internal distractions are your thoughts and emotions. Anything from anxiety to inner thoughts can cripple your daily routine and tasks. In students, it can be the stress of submitting an assignment or preparing for finals which can negatively distract their minds. External distractions: External distractions originate from the outside, like social media, mobiles, or some significant sports event. In today’s digital world, more students are distracted by external sources than internal ones.

  5. The reasons you can easily lose focus include: You have adult ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). You are not getting adequate sleep. You are suffering from repressed experiences and emotions. You are afraid of failure.
  6. The following are ways to improve concentration: Reduce Multitasking: Try to avoid doing more than one task at a time. Get more sleep: If you rest well and get adequate sleep, you will be able to perform good and stay focused on a particular task. Take short breaks: Take small breaks between tasks as it is difficult to stay focused and motivated for a long time. Exercise: Exercising helps relax muscles and relieve tension in the body.
  7. Below are some tips to avoid distractions: Become an early bird: Culture the habit of waking up early. It gives you more time to perform tasks. Make a daily plan: Make a to-do list at the start of the day. Prioritize the tasks based on their importance and urgency. Set a deadline: As a student, be aware to meet the deadlines of assignments and projects. Therefore, plan ahead of time. Clean it up: Remove all the clutter and while studying only keep the things that will help in it. Go offline: When studying, switch off your Wi-Fi connections and smartphones to go offline from all social media platforms to avoid distraction.
  8. While studying, it is more important to focus on studies than spending time on other things. You have spent a lot of money on studying, therefore, make most of it. Moreover, the better you do at studies, the more chances of getting a good job.
