  1. What is Easter? Easter is a Pagan spring festival of new life. It celebrates the beginning of spring and new life after the cold, winter months. For Christians, Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter celebrates life and rebirth, with symbols of new life and fertility like eggs, chicks, flowers and rabbits.
  2. When is it? Easter isn’t on the same date each year. It takes place on the first Sunday after the first full moon of spring; usually between the months of March and April. This year (2020), Easter is on the 12th of April.
  3. Who celebrates Easter? Many secular and religious people around the world celebrate Easter. Easter traditions are mostly observed by those of Christian faith.
  4. How is it celebrated? Christians go to church on Easter Sunday. The Easter Bunny delivers candy to the children and it usually arrives in a basket. Easter egg hunt: Plastic eggs filled with candy or chocolate eggs are hidden for children to find.
