1. How successful have you been in meeting your
brief?
My brief was to plan and produce a print campaign about
fashion for a charity.
I had to produce one landscape and two portrait campaigns.
Firstly, I have learnt how to do shutter speed, rule of thirds
and aperture with a DSLR 1100 D camera, which I wouldn’t
have normally used which helped me to meet the brief. I
had to do this to practise with the camera then when taking
my pictures for the photo shoot, I would know how to do
this. This really helped to meet the brief as this made my
images to look a lot better.
Secondly, I have learnt how to create a campaign and have gone more in depth into how to create a campaign.
I did this by researching into the Code and Practice
which consisted of CAP Code. This proved difficult to
find the information but when I did find the
information, it really helped me to know what to put in
my adverts and to not breach privacy. Also, I research
into existing campaign such as Barnardos, which really
helped me a lot as I showed me what my campaigns
should look like which helped me to create my
campaign.
Thirdly, I have used Photoshop to create my campaign.
With Photoshop, I learnt how to cut around an image
using the pen tool. I have never learnt this before so it
proved rather difficult to do and I had to redo my work,
but it helped make the things that I didn’t want in the
image to disappear and make my adverts more
realistic. I have learnt how to use the adjustments with
involve Hue and Saturation levels and the Colour and Contrast levels and Colour Balance which have helped
me so much in meeting the brief. Also with Photoshop, I learnt how to make my own background using to
bucket tool and the shapes tool which proved to be difficult which might have not made me meet the brief,
but it made the advert appeal to my target audience.
Fourthly, with Photoshop, I decided on my layout and background. With adverts one, I chose a light pink
background to show the innocence of children. My layout was simple with the picture off to one side and the
title at the top. I did this because it attracted the audience and I could use more tools to create this.
The brief was to plan and produce a print advertising campaign for a charity. I think that I have been quite
successful in meeting the brief as I have completed the work before the dead line and my adverts have turned
out quite well. It has matched with my theme quite well and it shows fashion very well. Also, I believe that my
locations of my advertisements have met the brief and my photographs turned out quite well. I also did this
with photoshop as without photoshop, I wouldn’t have been able to make my campaigns. The tools that I used
in photoshop really helped to make my campaigns the best that they can be because they edited the photos so
well. Next time, I think I will try to work harder and try not to get distracted.
3. How successful are your advertisements in promoting your chosen charity?
I think my advertisements are successful in promoting my chosen charity because they are colourful so they
will capture my target audiences' attention, they show my theme well, and they show what the charity is
about which is children. I think I showed this quite well by the background being colourful and quite vibrant
which shows my theme well and children like bright colours. Also, my layout helped it as my heading was
bigger than the rest of the writing which made it stand out and attract the audience. People have said that my
campaigns have really promoted my chosen charity well and this happened because the colours of the
campaign really attracted my target audience, making them want to come to the charity shop. Next time, I am
going to choose a more accessible theme and make my adverts more appropriate to the target audience. Also,
I am going to try and promote my adverts better. Also, next time I am going to take a picture of my
background rather than making my own as it took too much time which might have downgraded my work.
Overall I could see my adverts working well in fashion magazines and also in newspapers as they are what my
target audience would read and my campaigns would be suitable to be in them.
