2. Text
To create the appropriate
style of text for my
magazine I used a
Photoshop pre-set font,
Myriad Pro Bold. Using this
as a base is used the
character width and
character high percentages
to make adjustments. I also
tweaked my product whilst
doing subheadings and
numbers to create a similar
but different textual
appearance.
3. Magnetic lasso
The magnetic lasso was
useful when separating
the image on the right
from the original picture
taken using this to outline
what I needed was useful
as it meant I could make
adjustments to the
background, such as
blurring it, only made a
difference to what it had
to. This also allowed for
me to put the title behind
the head of the subject.
4. Blur tool and Transformations
I used the blur tool on the
main image to separate out
the background and the
foreground of my image, this
helped to make the subject of
the image, the student and the
test tubes, stand out from the
main image.
Transformations are essential
with images to allow for
perfect re-sizing. Using Ctrl
and T to enter transformation
mode and then holding shift
allowed me to re-scale the
image without distorting it.
