Simulation Lab Tour Offered at the 2012 Emergency Response Conference:August 7, 2012By: Jacob Stuart The Indiana Emergency Response Conference is pleased to announce aninteractive pre-conference workshop at the Simulation Center in Fairbanks Hall. TheSIMS tour is designed for medical personnel to refine their skills, while in a safe andrealistic hospital environment. Different real life scenarios are used to evaluate howthe staff respond and work together. Mannequins are programmed to respond asreal patients during the simulations, how much more realistic can you get? The SIMS tour has been made possible by a partnership with IU Health,Indiana University School of Medicine, and Indiana University School of Nursing. They came together in 2005 to design and implement this concept in order forstudents and professionals to have the opportunity for additional training in a safeenvironment. Their vision was to create a facility whose main focus is quality inpatient care, and to develop knowledge in new medical technology and skill sets. Three tours are available during the IERC. They are offered on September12th through the 14th. A shuttle service will be provided in front of the Crowne PlazaHotel at the available times listed below. Only 10 attendees are allowed for eachtour, so please make sure to register for this free workshop on the Conferencewebsite at Indianaerc.com. The training from this simulation will be an invaluableexperience, and we hope that many take advantage of this opportunity. Specialthanks to IU Health for their continued support of the Conference, as well as helpingto make the simulation lab tour possible.Choose one:- 825 G Tour 1 Wednesday, September 12 5:15 pm (shuttle pick up) to 7:15pm (tour from 5:45-6:45pm) - 1 credit hour- 826 G Tour 2 Thursday, September 13 12:45 pm (shuttle pick up) to 2:45 pm(tour from 1:15 – 2:15pm)- 1 credit hour- 827 G Tour 3 Friday, September 14 2:00 pm (shuttle pick up) to 4:00 pm(tour from 2:30-3:30pm)- 1 credit hour
