primarily in the eastern and
northern hemispheres and
sharing the continental landmass
of Eurasia with the continent of
Europe. Asia covers an area of
44,579,000 square kilometers,
about 30% of Earth's total land
area and 8.7% of the Earth's total
surface area. The continent,
which has long been home to the
majority of the human
population, was the site of many
of the first civilizations. Asia is
notable for not only its overall
large size and population, but
also dense and large settlements
as well as vast barely populated
regions within the continent of
4.4 billion people.

13. West Siberian Plain “The Largest” - RussiaWest Siberian Plain is located east of Ural Mountains mostly in the territory of Russia. It has been described as the
world's largest unbroken lowland—more than 50 percent is less than 100 metres (330 ft) above sea level—and
covers an area of about 2.6–2.7 million square kilometres (1.0 million square miles) which is about one third of
Siberia, extending from north to south for 2,400 km (1,490 mi), from the Arctic Ocean to the foothills of the Altay
Mountains, and from west to east for 1,900 km (1,180 mi) from the Yenisei River to the Ural Mountains.
14. Mt. Everest “The Highest” – Nepal & ChinaMount Everest, also known in Nepal as Sagarmāthā and in Tibet as Chomolungma, is Earth's highest mountain. Its
peak is 8,848 metres (29,029 ft) above sea level. Mount Everest is located in the Mahalangur mountain range in
Nepal. The international border between China (Tibet Autonomous Region) and Nepal runs across Everest's
precise summit point. Its massif includes neighbouring peaks Lhotse, 8,516 m (27,940 ft); Nuptse, 7,855 m (25,771
ft) and Changtse, 7,580 m (24,870 ft).
15. Sakurajima “The Most Dangerous” - JapanThis composite volcano in Japan was once its own island, but lava flows in its 1914 eruption caused it to connect to the
mainland. Many experts refer to it as the “Vesuvius of the east”, due to its high level of volcanic activity.
Every year, thousands of small explosions come from Sakurajima’s peak, throwing up ash over the surrounding areas. However,
a major eruption could have deadly consequences for the 700,000 residents of Kagoshima, who live just miles from the
Volcano. The city even has special volcano shelters where people can go to take cover from falling debris.
16. Chocolate Hills “The Most Perfect” - Philippines
The Chocolate Hills are consistent in their cone shape and size and estimates show that the number of hills reaches at least
1,260 but may be as many as 1,776. The Chocolate Hills encompass a 20 square mile (50 sq km) area creating a sea or rolling
terrain of these haycock hills. The height of the hills varies from 98 to 160 feet (30 to 50 m) with the largest hill reaching a peak
of 390 feet (120 m). The Chocolate Hills are actually grass covered limestone, but during the dry season the grass dries up
turning brown which is where the name is derived from. The dried up brown hills look like a sea of “chocolate kisses.”
17. Hunza Valley “The Most Beautiful” – PakistanThe Hunza is a mountainous valley in the Gilgit–Baltistan region of Pakistan. Hunza valley is situated to the north
of the Hunza River, at an elevation of around 2,500 metres (8,200 ft). The territory of Hunza is about 7,900 square
kilometres (3,100 sq mi).As much as the valley is famous for its beauty, the people of Hunza are noted for their
friendliness and hospitality. The local languages spoken are Burushaski, Wakhi and Shina, many people
understand Urdu.
18. Trango Towers Cliffs “World’s Tallest and Greatest” - Pakistan
The Trango Towers are a family of rock towers situated in Gilgit-Baltistan, in the north of Pakistan. The Towers offer some of
the largest cliffs and most challenging rock climbing in the world, and every year a number of expeditions from all corners of
the globe visit Karakoram to climb the difficult granite. They are located north of Baltoro Glacier, and are part of the Baltoro
Muztagh, a sub-range of the Karakoram range. The highest point in the group is the summit of Great Trango Tower at 6,286 m
(20,608 ft), the east face of which features the world's greatest nearly vertical drop.
19. Ngapali Beach “The Best Beach” – MyanmarNgapali Beach has been promoted as a major tourist destination in Myanmar. Several resorts and hotels are
located in Ngapali, usually of the high end - such as Bayview Ngapali, Amata Resort, Amazing Ngapali and also the
government owned Anawa. Ngapali used to have private bungalows, but these were torn down in the late 1990s
to make way for the development of hotels. The hotels and small tourism industry help to provide income for the
villages around Ngapali and also Thandwe. There is also a golf course nearby.
20. Himalayan Mountain Range “TheLongest” – Nepal & China
The Himalayan range is home to the planet's highest peaks, including the highest, Mount
Everest. The Himalayas include over a hundred mountains exceeding 7,200 metres (23,600 ft)
in elevation. By contrast, the highest peak outside Asia – Aconcagua, in the Andes – is 6,961
metres (22,838 ft) tall.
21. Bali is an island and province of Indonesia. The province includes the island of Bali and a few
smaller neighbouring islands, notably Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan. It is
located at the westernmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands, between Java to the west and
Lombok to the east. Its capital, Denpasar, is located in the southern part of the island.

22. “Mountain River Cave” is located in Phong Nha-ke Bang National Park. Reportedly discovered in 1991 by locals, who were
allegedly afraid to enter the cave due to a whistling sound at the cave’s entrance. It gained international attention in 2009
when a group of British scientists explored the immense cave. Hang Son Doong boasts the world’s largest fast flowing
underground river, and is officially the largest cave known to man. It’s largest chamber is about 660 feet high and 490 feet
wide, and over 3 miles long. (large enough to hold a city block of New York skyscrapers)

23. Arabian Peninsula or Arabia is the largest peninsula of the world which occupies an area of 3.2 million square Km.
It is located in middle east and comprises of 7 countries including Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen, UAE, Kuwait,
Bahrain and Qatar. It is surrounded by Red sea in west, Gulf of Aden in south, Arabian sea in southeast, Gulf of
Oman in east and Persian gulf in northeast.

24. The Arabian Desert is a vast desert wilderness stretching from Yemen to the Persian Gulf and
from Oman to Jordan and Iraq. It is the largest desert in Asia at 900,000 square miles and
occupies most of the Arabian Peninsula. This desert is located in the Middle East or West Asia

25. The world’s largest archipelago with an area of about 2 million km² is the Malay Archipelago. Archipelagos within Malay
Archipelago include Indonesian Islands, Maluku Islands, Philippines Islands and Sunda Islands. There are also other
archipelagos within the Philippine Archipelago and Sunda Islands. The world’s largest archipelago, with 25,000 islands, is
located between mainland Southeastern Asia and Australia. New Guinea, the world 2nd largest island, is not always included
in definitions of the Malay Archipelago. It is situated in the Indian and Pacific oceans.

28. The Verde Island sea passage, between the Philippine island of Mindoro and Batangas
province, has been identified as the “centre of the centre” of the world’s marine shorefish
diversity in a study by Kent Carpenter, IUCN Global Marine Species Assessment co-ordinator,
and Victor Springer of the Smithsonian Institute.

29. The Yangtze River, known in China as the Cháng Jiāng or the Yángzǐ Jiāng, is the longest river in Asia and the third-
longest in the world. The river is the longest in the world to flow entirely within one country. It drains one-fifth of
the land area of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and its river basin is home to one-third of the country's
population. The Yangtze is the sixth-largest river by discharge volume in the world. It’s length is 6,300 km.

30. The Persian Gulf is a mediterranean sea in Western Asia. An extension of the Indian Ocean
(Gulf of Oman) through the Strait of Hormuz, it lies between Iran to the northeast and the
Arabian Peninsula to the southwest. The Shatt al-Arab river delta forms the northwest
shoreline. It’s surface area is 251,000 km2 (97,000 sq mi).

31. Lake Baikal is positioned in southeastern (Siberia) Russia, directly to the north of Mongolia. Recognized as the
oldest (still existing) freshwater lake on the planet, it is also measured as the deepest continental body of water at
5,315 feet (1,620 m). In addition, it is the largest freshwater lake by volume, containing an astounding 20% of the
planet's fresh water. With a maximum width of 60 miles (96 km), Lake Baikal is about 389 miles (626 km) in
length. Completely surrounded by mountains, over 300 rivers and streams drain into this massive lake.

32. The Strait of Malacca is a narrow, 850 km (530 mi) stretch of water between the Malay
Peninsula (Peninsular Malaysia) and the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It is named after the
Malacca sultanate that ruled over the archipelago between 1400 and 1511.

33. Hannoki Falls, in Toyama Prefecture, Japan, is the tallest waterfall in Asia at a height of 497 m
(1,640 feet). However, it only has water from April to July when the snow covering the
Midagahara plateau melts, so its neighbor, Shōmyō Falls, is usually considered the tallest.
Hannoki and Shōmyō falls are therefore twin waterfalls.
