Jamie Freed – BIO
Jamie Freed current CEO of entertainment firm Freed Management Inc oversees and
represents a stable of high profile Celebrity Artists, Music, Brands and Digital in all areas of
entertainment. Jamie’s 360 degree entertainment background has lead to high level deals in
the areas of Domestic and International Artists, Brands and Products. Along with generating
opportunities for A-list Artists worldwide, Jamie works closely with all forms of media outlets
creating marketing strategies for affiliated partners.
Within the area of artist representation, Jamie has been actively involved in negotiating on
artists behalf in the areas of packaging feature films, television series, record deals, music tours,
Merchandise, licensing, book (novel) deals, endorsements, commercials, voiceovers, personal
appearances, video games, digital endeavors, clothing, and the raising of capital and financing.
Jamie was seen in the Hollywood Variety, which profiled one of his clients: Lifestyle Icon Paris
Hilton as the “Billion Dollar Entrepreneur”. As manager and strategic partner to Paris Hilton,
Jamie oversaw Paris’ career, global brand and all areas of her business for the past 7 years.
Jamie lead the implementation of what is now a $4 Billion Empire encompassing 60 Paris Hilton
Stores (globally), Paris Beach Clubs, motorcycles, fragrances, handbags, shoes, eyewear,
cosmetics to name a few. Most notably for Paris, not only was a label deal secured with Cash
Money Records and a summer residency at Ibiza’s # 1 venue “Amnesia”, Jamie also
transitioned Paris into the most bankable female DJ in Electronic Dance Music.
Jamie also served as chief consultant to the CEO of A2LIVE China, in charge of building
China’s largest EDM festival. With artist bookings at the top level of EDM such as TIESTO and
SKRILLEX, Jamie guided the STORM FESTIVAL, which achieved a record breaking ticket sale
of 150,000 attendees and secured the title Sponsorship of the festival: Budweiser.
Other representation and collaborations of companies and clients have included: Royal Families
for Celebrity personal appearances, High net worth individuals for entertainment investment
opportunities (Film), Mega Brands Like SKECHERS, and now the recent popular rise of
“INFLUENCERS” such as Instagram Sensation BROCK OHURN.
Jamie began his career as a music promoter in Los Angeles booking hundreds of bands in the
1990’s. In the early days of bands like Linkin Park and Jack Johnson performed at Jamie’s
shows. He segued into artist representation and secured a position at United Talent Agency
(UTA) in the Endorsements, Licensing, division where he targeted campaigns globally for
marquee talent such as, Jim Carey, Eminem, Prince, Gwen Stefani, Ben Stiller and Vince
Vaughn. In 2000, Jamie segued into management and joined Michael Ovitz’s newly formed
company, Artists Management Group (AMG). At AMG Jamie was involved in multiple divisions
of artist representation, which included: Motion Picture Talent and Music Artists. AMG
represented a stable of A-list clients which included: Leonardo Dicaprio, Cameron Diaz, Martin
Scorsese, Oliver Stone, Robin Williams, Michael Crichton, Phantom Planet, Pete Yorn and
Missy Elliot to name a few.
Jamie also had a passion for discovering new talent and started the careers of various young
stars such as: Kellan Lutz (Twilight), Katee Sackhoff (Bionic Woman, 24, Battlestar Galactica),
Jacob Zachar (ABC Family’s Greek). In 2004, Jamie took an unknown Selena Gomez at the
mere age of 12 years old, and within 6 years Jamie had transformed Selena’s career and
brokered deals in all areas of Entertainment & Lifestyles creating the beginning of a commercial
empire, which escalated Selena’s career and status to one of the most successful young
celebrities on a global scale. Such deals included the Starring Role in Disney Channel’s top
rated show Wizards of Waverly Place, Starring role in Fox feature’s theatrical franchise Beezus
and Ramona, Endorsements, Voiceovers, Clothing and Licensing deals with various high level
brands, a 360 record deal with Hollywood Records, a music tour and global merchandise
expansion.
In November 2007 while working at The Collective Management, Jamie was profiled by the
Hollywood Reporter and was named one of the top 35 Entertainment Executives in Hollywood
under the age of 35. He was one of only three talent managers recognized. Jamie’s experience
within the last 15 years have lead him to focusing on multi-hyphenate artists who share his
same passion to transcend all sectors of Entertainment. Jamie has since diversified his
entertainment business by not only representing celebrities in the film, TV and music sectors,
but with technology companies that are paving the way to a new future.
Jamie has become recognized by his Hollywood affiliates as an instrumental bridge between
Celebrity and the technology sector. Jamie’s passion is to continue building business’ in the
world of entertainment, technology, and pop culture crossing the boundaries of traditional
media.
Jamie graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he received his
BA in Sociology emphasizing Communications, Psychology and Business.
