group of people in a structured, deliberate manner
intended to inform, influence or entertain the
listeners.

Learning to use it properly is key for
improving your public speaking.

combination of your gestures, facial
expressions, and movements. It is an
integral part of how we communicate.
It help your audience better
understand the nuances of
your message.

Delivery is the way you speak. Good
delivery is essential for your
audience to understand your speech.

1. When we refer to public speaking as a social act, we mean public
speaking involves the speaker and the audience.
2. Letting the imagination run wild is recommended for coping with
stage fright.
3. To learn skills in public speaking, you do not combine practice
with reading observation and criticism.
4. It is a good idea to begin by selecting a topic that your audience
knows.
5. The audience will remember the importance of your point by using
emphasis.
Task 1. AGREE OR

Two styles of delivering a speech
Impromptu Speech. The speaker will
be provided with a topic and delivers
it without any preparation.
Prepared Speech. The speaker is given a
topic in advance, has time to do background
research on it, and has time to practice
delivering the speech.
