The sound system of Sotho is unusual in many
respects. It has ejective consonants, click
consonants, a uvular trill, a relatively large number
of affricate consonants, no prenasalised
consonants, and a rare form of vowel-height
(alternatively, advanced tongue root) harmony.
LESOTHO HOLDS ONE OF THE HIGHEST LITERACY RATES
IN AFRICA, IN PART BECAUSE LESOTHO INVESTS

Despite their literacy, Lesotho's residents struggle for access to vital

according to the International Telecommunication Union, only 3.4% of the
population use the Internet.
