beginningandaskourselvesaquestion,“Whatisthe Importance of Team”?
• A teamcan accomplishmore thanan individual.
• Communityandworkplace structuresthesedaysrequire teamthinkingandgroupconsensus.
• Everyone operatesasamemberof manyteams.(Lateral service andhelpingothers)
• Morale improveswhenpeople identifythemselvesasapart of a successful team.
• People will supportwhattheyhelpdevelop.
Onlyafterwe understandthese fivequestionsabovecanwe go andstart askingourselves - How doyou
builda StrongTeam?This maytake some time toaccomplish;youasa leaderhave tofirstestablisha
teamvision - "What are we capable of accomplishing?"
Thencomesthe hard one,youhave to buildtrustwithyour team - "People needtoknow youcare
before theycare whatyou know."Forexample,whenwe startedthisjourneyinSarasotaourOES scores
for Full Engagementwere aslowasthe 30’s. We had lotsof work to do!
Afterwe establishedwhatwe cando andour trust level increasedthe needlestartedtomove.The team
startedto believeintheirownself-worth- "Successcomesincans,failuresincannots”. The employees
noticeditisworking,teammembershelpingeachotherwin - andtakingpride ineachother's
accomplishments.Inoticedthatthe teamisdoingeverythingwithenthusiasm - it's/wascontagious! It
tooka fewyearsandour scoresshot upto the high80’s.
I hope thiswill helpyou‘move the needle’andperhapsshootforthe starswithyourteam. Because itis
all aboutthe teamand youwill then,reachthe scores.
