  2. Since 2008, we have empowered over 400 youth with the global skills, experiences and connections that can give them a competitive head start. !! Our intensive study abroad programs are designed for a diverse group of high school students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to travel abroad. Each program integrates cross-cultural awareness, personal and professional development, as well as academic and career exposure while the students immerse themselves in a new country, language and culture. ! !! Alumni Grants & Scholarships! 4 Choose an APSA Program & apply for an APSA Scholarship 1Partial Scholarships: Open to youth from all backgrounds and regions of the US! Full Scholarships: Open to youth from partner schools in underserved communities! Be selected & awarded an APSA Scholarship 2APSA’s selection committee reviews all applications and awards the finalists their scholarships. Scholars then begin the admission process for their particular APSA program.!

APSA Scholarship! $3000 $1000 - $4000* $5000 $7500 Awarded to APSA Alumni to support their study abroad and global career goals. Merit based scholarships awarded to selected students. *Scholarships may vary based on financial need and availability of funds. Awarded to selected students from our partner schools and organizations based in underserved communities. Awarded to selected students with physical disabilities that would require assistance travelling abroad. Partial Scholarship: Subsidizes the cost of additional study abroad programs / international internships ! Partial Scholarship: ! Awarded to outstanding youth based on their demonstrated financial need. ! Full Scholarship: ! Students who are enrolled in free/reduced lunch programs. Covers all program costs, including international travel and personal expenses. ! Full Scholarship:! Covers all program costs, including international travel and any required assistance abroad.! Can be designated to a specific Alumni who has already been accepted into another study abroad program/global internship by the donor.! Can be designated to a specific APSA program and/or region of the US by the donor. ! Can be designated to a specific APSA program, region and/or School Partner by the donor. ! Can be designated to a specific APSA program by the donor. ! (1-2 scholarships per program)!
  5. 100% of Scholarship Fund contributions directly support youth who require financial assistance in order to study abroad. Scholarship Fund Donor Levels Igniters give $50 - $250/year Helping us reach more youth across the US Youth Champions give $300 - $1500/year Providing valuable mentorship to our Scholars Life-Changers give $2000 - $7500/year Directly supporting one Scholar’s global education experience abroad Americans Promoting Study Abroad! Approximate cost per student: $4000 - $5000* *All APSA Program costs including international flights APSA Program Cost Breakdown International Flights 24% Partner University Dorm 12% Healthy Meals 14% Professional Language / Dance Instruction 24% Culture, Academic & Career Activities 26% Student Feedback: 70% of APSA Alumni have continued studying Chinese after the China Scholars program. 95% of APSA Alumni say their own cultural awareness and interest in China increased as a result of the program. “The APSA program was the turning point of my academic career. Not only did I catch the travel bug, but I fell in love with the Chinese language. This program influenced my choice to pursue a major in international politics at Georgetown University and continue my Chinese studies.
