  6. 6. Before you delegate, Ask yourself these 3 questions: 1. Can the task be delegated? 2. Should it be delegated? 3. Do you have the time to delegate effectively? If yes, remember…
  7. 7. You get power, when you give power!!!
  8. 8. 1. Pick the person best suited for the task. 2. Make sure they can work independently. 3. Make sure they understand what to do. 4. Get the commitment of the employee. 5. Give the person authority of the project. 6. Determine if the task needs to be monitored. 7. Motivate by discussing the positive impact. 8. Determine if the task is completed: –Do you need to make the final decision? –Do you need to review with the employee? –Do you let the employee make the final decision?   39. 39. Decision-making is a key role of a manager and leader. Some managers find this to be one of the most difficult tasks to perform.
  40. 40. Don’t have a fear of failure Don’t procrastinate
  41. 41. Think of making a decision, as drawing a line between two points. If you can’t draw a straight line between the two points, then that decision should most likely be rejected.
  42. 42. Don’t be afraid to talk to your boss or upper management about major problems or needs that concern you. You do not want to be known as a manager who “keeps secrets”
  43. 43. Define the problem or need before you make the decision. Ask yourself, and others if needed, the following: who, what, when, where, how, why type of questions.
