Text Selection Methods:
Highlight or Double click........select word
3 clicks........select lign
4 clicks.......select paragraph
5 clicks........select the story (or just ctrl+A)
Ps: always make sure you select the empty space after the last word you highlight.
Cmd+shift+right/left: select one word at a time
Cmd+shift+up/down arrows: select one paragraph at a time
2. Cmd+shift+end......select from where you are till the end of the Story
Cmd+shift+home.......select from your cursor to the beginning of the Story
PS: If layer locked: you can't select any text in the layer
Master Page Items in Documents:
Master page items (differentiated by their dotted lines around them if Frame edges is shown -
View>Extras>Show Frame Edges) can't be edited on document pages unless you cmd+shift+click on it

Layers On Top:
Ctrl/cmd+click will select a layer beneath another layer
The Red Icon:
The red (+) icon at the end of a text grid is the OVERSET TEXT.
How to deal with it: go Edit>Story editor> Edit text so that the hash mark # ends the story on the same
lign.
Hidden Characters:
Turn on the hidden characters which are how many PARAGRAPH, BREAK, END...: Type>show hidden
characters
Text Wrap:
When text so close to picture and is disappearing: select text> Object>Text Frame Option>ignore text
wrap.
Always: FIT FRAME TO CONTENT (top right icon) to always have a clear and tidy layout. Or find it in
Object>Fitting>Fit Frame to content.
Changing Cases:
in the upper control bar or....
3. If i want every word to start with a full sized capital, Menu>Change Case> and switch to Title Case.
Glyphs Panel:
Characters that are not already available on our keyboard
Type > Special Character
You can create anew glyphs set if you always use the same characters. Menu button>create glyphs
set>name it. Right click on characters and add it to your set.
