Sustainable multi-thematic fund exceeds
150 mln euro in AUM
 Growing popularity of Degroof Petercam AM’s future-oriented investment strategy has
resulted in a tremendous increase of fund volume this year
Strong interest is driving growth
DPAM Invest B Equities NEWGEMS Sustainable, a global equity portfolio which focuses on seven
future investment themes (nanotechnology, environment, wellness, generation Z, e-society, industry
4.0 and security) and which is managed in accordance with sustainability criteria passed the 150
million euro mark in AUM. The innovative strategy, which was only launched in December 2017, has
grown substantially from 33mln euro in January to 155mln euro in AUM end of September 2018.

Society 5.0 and taking sustainability aspects into account is being greeted with strong interest across
many different client groups. The performance is also impressive, but more important is the fact that the
high level of interest strengthens our conviction that in a rapidly changing world the future is not made
by most of the traditional (large cap) companies but that we need to keep on encouraging the
inventiveness of our portfolio managers and analysts to look for new winners (often under-researched or
less well-known companies) in combination with the embedding of sustainability criteria in our
investment processes” says Quirien Lemey, portfolio manager for the NEWGEMS strategy.
