1. ACTION PRPOSALS FROM PRE CONFERENCE DEN BOSCH ( Elzo Kannekens)

Dear members of the world Government, Dear members of the World Parliament,
Thank you for the opportunity to present you my resolution.
My name is Elzo Kannekens and I’m consultant Sustainable agriculture at Schuttelaar & Partners.
My resolution is based on the outcomes of the 2nd
National KLV alumni Pre-meeting which was
held in Den Bosch on June 23rd
in association with the South Netherlands Farmers Organisation,
Agri ProFocus and Schuttelaar & Partners. Theme of the pre-meeting was: How can we create
more value in the food production chain and continue feeding our world.
The outcome of the debate was plain and simple: Trust is a must for sustainable innovation
In a business which is highly competitive and very cost driven, Trust is the biggest quest to
overcome when new alliances are formed. This is the biggest challenge for the food production
chain. Without trust amongst innovation partners it’s impossible to make a leap forward. My
resolution aims for creating a trustworthy environment in which participants can speak freely
and ideas and innovations are not seen as confidential but as common interest.
In order to innovate freely and explore new possibilities, one should be triggered to think out of
the box. This can be facilitated by connecting scientists, experts, idiots and business developers
from different backgrounds.
When putting these statements together and considering the unique international position of
both Wageningen University and KLV network. Both organizations which have trained and
educated and moreover still have a warm network of Members and alumni in Key positions in
International agrifood.
The only right resolution to come to sustainable innovation in Agri –food is:
Wageningen University and Research centre and KLV Alumni Network commit themselves to
organizing a yearly Roundtable of KEY OPINION ALUMNI to come up with new innovative
solutions for the challenging task of feeding the world.
This round table of (let’s call it) WORLD INNOVATORS OF AGRI-FOOD is an safe platform in which
key challenges in food production will be discussed without being compromised by daily worries.
Concrete themes will be appointed by the masters of ceremony, being Wageningen University
and KLV Network. The quest is to aim for a concrete action perspective, not some woolly idea.
So I repeat my resolution:
Wageningen University and Research centre and KLV Alumni Network commit themselves to
organizing a yearly Roundtable of KEY OPINION ALUMNI to come up with new innovative
solutions for the challenging task of feeding the world.
