 A grass cutter is a machine that uses sliding blades
to cut a lawn at an even length. Even more
sophisticated devices are there in every field. Power
consumption becomes essential for future.
The DC to DC buck boost converter helps to step
up the DC voltage from store the DC voltage in a
battery. It is an automated system for the purpose of
grass cutting.
The main components of the solar powered
grass cutter are
Rechargeable Batteries
DC motor
 Iron squared channel section
 Wheels
 Toggle Switch
 Blades
The design of an electrical lawn mower contents a blades, bed knife, body
frame, wheels, push handle, bag, & motor . The power system there are many
Options, but we are using rechargeable battery powered motor, which is attached
to the cutting blades. Sizing the battery will depend on what we are powering,
specifically the motors. Like batteries, there is a range of motors to choose from.
We went with 36 volt motor with integrated gear heads.
Cutter deck housing — This houses the blade and the drive system of the
mower. It is shaped to effectively eject the grass clippings from the mower.
Blade mounting and drive system — The blade of a rotary mower is usually
mounted directly to the motor shaft.
Mower blade — A rotary mower generally has two blades that rotates
horizontally. The blade features edges that slightly curved up to generate a
continuous air flow as the blade rotates, thus creating a sucking and tearing
action.
 Although many early machines had two
blades, the three-blade concept gradually
became dominant during the late 1980s.That
type of blades very useful in grass cutting
like applications.
 The cyclic forces impose significant stresses
on several parts of the structure and these
forces are much lower when a three-blade,
as the asymmetric forces encountered as the
rotor rotates are much less.
Grass Cutter specifications:
12 v DC Motor , 4500 rpm
12 v rechargeable battery
3 blades high speed cutter 280 mm Diameter
The speed controller works by varying the average
voltage sent to the motor. It could do this by simply
adjusting the voltage sent to the motor, but this is quite
inefficient to do. A better way is to switch the motor's
supply on and off very quickly. If the switching is fast
enough, the motor doesn't notice it, it only notices the
average effect.
 Blade - Consist of numerous blades that are attached to a
rotating shaft. The blades rotate, creating a cutting motion.
 Bed knife - Is the stationary cutting mechanism of a mower.
 Body frame - The main structural frame of the mower onto
which the other parts of the mower are mounted.
 Wheels - These help propel the mower in action. Generally,
our lawn mowers have four wheels.
 Motor - The power source of a lawn mower that is powered
by Battery & We are using small DC motor .
 In grass cutter use a single DC motor that will
spin faster than the drive motors
 We won’t attach a real blade unless operated
outside due to safety concerns
No fuel consumption
No. of reciprocating parts are less
Compact size and portable
 Easy to move from one place to another place
Operating principle is simple.
Non-skilled person also operate this machine
 There are several types of mowers, each
suited to a particular scale and purpose.
 The smaller types are pushed by human
user and are suitable for small
residential lawns and gardens.
 Lawn mowers are widely used in all
sports grounds. Lawn mowers become a
more efficient alternative to the
domesticated grazing animals.
 It is widely used to cut small grasses &
it can also be used for cutting small
plants and also used for trimming grass
of play grounds and sports ground.
This Grass cutter mower will meet the challenge of
environmental production and low cost of operation
since there is no cost for fueling. A lawn mower has
been developed for the use of residences and
establishments that have lawns where tractor driven
mowers could not be used. The machine’s capacity is
adequate for its purpose. The machine has proved to
be a possible replacement for the gasoline powered
lawn mowers.

A better way is to switch the motor's supply on and off very quickly. If the switching is fast enough, the motor doesn't notice it, it only notices the average effect.
