Karthik Chirala completed an internship during the summer of 2015 at
Amsted Rail Faiveley. Karthik’s primary obejective was to provide a current state Value
Stream Map of our Machine Shop operations, with recommended improvement
opportunities.
Karthik completed this project and provided us with a very good understanding of
our Current State. Karthik developed a future state that would reduce our cycle times,
while increasing our capacity and efficiency.
Karthik was able to be successful in a difficult environment, one that does not
embrace outsiders or change. Karthik developed good working relationships with all levels
of the organization and was able to present his ideas to leadership.
Karthik’s detailed Value Stream Analysis incorporated all stakeholders and valued
their perspectives. He was able to collect valueable data that will help our organization
drive the necessary changes. Karthik required minimal direction during his intership and
has a good work ethic.
