The living Staircase
DigiFin is a company that is run by a man named Lee Axel. DigiFin is a multimedia company that
ranges from photography to cinematography and videography, helping create everything from
music videos to promotional videos for super cars. The company is just one person, so it means
that the recording, editing and everything else that comes along with a business is all his
responsibility. In his own words, he is someone who enjoys a challenge, and he brings this into his
work, always looking for ways for him to improve the way he is working so that he is always
making his best work for people.
Lee from Digifin got into the industry by accident as he was a personal trainer who begun making
videos to promote himself as a personal trainer, uploading video blog posts however in doing this
he ended up finding his love for videography. He began his business by recording on an iPhone
and he continued this for a while, even whilst working with companies such as Aston Martin as he
likes to say that in the right hands, the camera on a phone can be used to create amazing things.
He records with his phone, a camera and drones to capture footage.

2. From this workshop I learned a lot regarding DigiFin and what they do/how they operate. I
learned that the technology we carry around day to day has more potential to it than we are led
to think however it just required putting a little more effort into taking images and videos. I also
learned more in depth about how your degree that you get when you go to university doesn’t
automatically decide what field you need to go down as Axel is uneducated as he did not go to
college/university and yet with some work he managed to make something of himself.
I would say I came out of this workshop knowing a little more about the industry and potential
careers within it such as freelancing, however the main thing that I learned from this is that
confidence will be your most important trait when trying to create a name for yourself.
Axel set us a task where we were given an hour to record some footage around the college and
create a promotional video (no longer than 60 seconds) that would be directed towards
international students. Once we were done with this, we then moved onto showing these videos

3. to everyone and Axel gave us some feedback on what we had created which was a good
experience as it was actual industry feedback.
