Survey Results
My first question on my survey was to find out the average age of the people taking my survey and all of the people taking my
survey were within the age range of the target audience for my project as my target audience for Smile Campaign is people who
are 12-18 years old.
What I found out from this was that 90% of people taking this survey were aged between 16-18 however one person taking my
survey was between the ages of 13-15 which is good as it means I am getting feedback from many age groups instead of just one
age group.
I chose to ask this question as I feel it is important to take personal identity into account when it comes to making a product, as
even though I want to appeal to everyone it is still important that I know who I am making something for/my viewers identity.
What I found out from this question is:
66.7% of those taking the survey identified as women.
22.2% of people taking the survey identify as a man.
11.1% of people taking the survey identify as Non-Binary.
I asked this question as I felt it was an important one seeing as my project is about making people who are suffering from mental
health issues or something similar smile. Low moods is a large issue for those suffering with mental health issues so it is
important to know just how often it affects people within my target audience.
What I found out from this question:
30% of people taking the survey feel they suffer from low moods All of the time
30% of people taking the survey feel they suffer from low moods Often
30% of people taking the survey feel they suffer from low moods Sometimes
10% of people taking the survey feel they suffer from low moods Rarely.
This is a very important question for my project as it is based around mental health so I asked this question just so I could see
how bad people actually feel their mental health is just to know how I should approach making my product.
What I found out from this question:
10% of people taking this survey feel their mental health is Good
40% of people taking this survey feel their mental health is Average
20% of people taking this survey feel their mental health is Poor
30% of people taking this survey feel their mental health is Very poor
I asked this question just because I feel it is
important to find out how often those
within my target audience feel stressed.
What I found out from this question is:
22.2% of people taking this survey feel
they’re stressed sometimes.
77.8% of people taking this survey feel
they’re stressed often.
From this I figured I should then ask what it
is they do to cope with their stress.
I asked this question as I feel that knowing what
people do to relieve their stress as I could
include these activities in my actual advert so
there are various ways people could relate to
the advert I am making
What I found out from this question is:
One person relieves stress by crying.
Two people listen to music to relieve stress
Two people Read to relieve stress.
One person relieves stress by talking to their
girlfriend.
One person works to relieve their stress.
One person relaxes in bed to relieve stress.
One person relieves stress by taking time on
their own.
However one person didn’t give an answer.
I asked this question purely out of
curiosity however it may be useful
in my advert.
What I found out from this advert
is:
One person feels they are most
stressed around people
One person feels most stressed at
home
Four people feel most stressed at
or because of college work.
One person feels most stressed
“living”
One person feels they are most
stressed at work.
One person feels they are most
stressed all the time.
I asked this question as I feel that knowing what people do to relieve their stress as I could include these activities in my actual
advert so there are various ways people could relate to the advert I am making.
What I found out from this question is:
44.4% of people relieve their stress by reading
11.1% of people relieve their stress by climbing
11.1% of people relieve their stress by djing
11.1% of people relieve their stress by learning new languages
11.1% of people relieve their stress by doing sport or listening to music
I asked this question mainly as I felt it was important to know
who makes my target audience smile so I could include these
kind of people in my own ad.
What I learned from this question is:
Three people feel that their friends make them smile.
Three people feel animals make them smile (dogs, otters, cats
and cows.)
Two people feel their family make them smile.
Two people feel their significant others make them smile.
One person feels that books make them smile.
I asked this question seeing as this campaign is about smiling
and how it makes us happier.
What I learned from this question is:
10% of people feel that they smile All of the time
40% of people feel that they smile Often
40% of people feel that they smile Sometimes
10% of people feel that they smile Rarely
I asked this question knowing that work is very stressful
for students, and if the majority worked I could add this
into my work as something that causes stress.
What I learned from this question is:
50% of people who took my survey are employed
50% of people who took my survey are unemployed.
I asked this question just so I knew how often the people taking
my survey worked a week as I felt it was important.
What I found out from this question is:
22.2% of people who work only work 8 hours a week.
11.1% of people who work only work 16 hours a week.
22.2% of people who work, work 20+ hours a week.
44.4% of people who took the survey do not work.
I felt this was an important question to ask as I found during my research that there is a large issue within places of education
with mental health and seeing as this was a mental health survey it would have been useful to find out just how many people
taking it were in education
What I learned from this question is that all of the people who took my survey are in some sort of education.
Seeing as the company we are making this product for is mind I felt it was an important question to see if the people taking my
survey had heard of Mind.
What I learned from this question is:
90% of the people who took my survey had heard of the company mind.
10% of the people who took my survey had not heard of the company mind.
Seeing as we have been told we have to make a podcast based around mental health for our smile campaign I figured it was
important to actually ask my target audience if they would enjoy listening to this kind of podcast.
What I learned from this question is:
20% of those taking my survey would be interested in listening to a podcast on mental health.
30% of those taking my survey would maybe be interested in listening to a podcast on mental health.
50% of those talking my survey would not be interested in listening to a podcast on mental health.
I asked this question seeing as we have been told to create an advert on mental health for the smile campaign so I figured it
would be smart to ask those within my target audience if they would be interested in watching this kind of thing.
What I learned from this question is:
20% of people taking my survey would be interested in watching an advert on mental health.
20% of people taking my survey would not be interested in watching an advert on mental health.
60% of people taking my survey would possibly be interested but are not sure.
